This fits in this thread best, but I'm unsure the seller is nuts. Delusional, misinformed, illiterate, maybe...the SNL reference makes me shake my head.

"sirsellsum" should change his eBay ID to "sirclueless"! it's too bad that they look like they went through a couple of rinse cycles because there appear to be some original OPC stickers in the bunch ~ would be total torture to find if some of the 2nd series titles were OPC's... sigh....

I'm calling Proctor and Gamble tomorrow and ask if Topps can continue to print Wackeys!

I'd suggest talking to Gamble. I hear Proctor's a dick.

I love the lines from the description "This is a very slippery slope for retail products so you won't find anything like them ever again. Earliest know parody before SNL"  Someone should inform the people who produced BALLY HOO magazine back in the '40s and '50s, or even National Lampoon, MAD, and CRACKED pre-SNL that they were not creating parodies. And what is it that Topps, Fleer, Zeebs, Wax Eye, and others have been doing since? Gotta love it when historians sell on eBay.

Wait, didn't SNL invent comedy? You mean people joked around and laughed before SNL. Amazing. That Lavirus card looks like the contents of the Lavirus came right out of the bottle, would make a good paring with the Virginia Slums card mentioned recently on this thread.  :great:

I guess I am too late.  You all stated my thoughts already.  Especially the one about not buying it for $4.44.  LOL!  That was going to be my line.

I love the commentary here.  Keep up the good work everyone.

If you read the seller's feedback it's looks like he's screwed at least a couple sellers on some high priced items.  Even if these were all Ludlows in nice shape I would avoid a seller like that.

The seller has received another negative feedback since they listed the "Wackey Package by Top"! Warning, warning, Will Robinson... :o

I'd hate to be the consignor of these unopened packs "sellhelper" is helping sell. He started from asking prices 4 to 6 times realistic value on some of these. After a couple of months, he's lowered a couple by maybe 5%. At this rate they should definitely sell by 2040.

By 2040 you will be able to make your own indistinquishable copy with the "matter printers" that will be common in that era. I will keep mine in the trunk of my flying car.   Can you tell I just returned from my vacation in 2042? That reminds me, the Tardis was a bit wobbily on the return. Need to get that checked.

BTW, sirclueless has a nice shiny penny for up sale      :o

Do you think there was ever a point at the US mint where the money designers were stumped at what "catch phrase" to put on the reverse side of the coin and one turned to the others and asked , "A thought for your pennies?"   Just wonderin'

That is a nice penny.  I have been on the hunt for a shiny one for some time now.  Should I pay the $7 buy it now or try to hold out for the $5?  Hmmm....Tough decision. ;D

Oh well, the 6% off sale is over. Back to the original prices! LOL, I'm at least impressed he has a bid of $36 on a 7th gumless pack with two days to go. It's a GAI 8.5, but that's still a good price considering how ultra common these are in high grade.

Ya got me on this one... I could see someone trying to possibly sell this off to a Lady Gaga fan or collector who is not familiar with what WP prices would be but the seller doesn't even reference it that way in the subject line (like "LADY GAGA PARODY" for example).

Okay, first thing I want to make clear is that seller is NOT me! LOL!

I think it's obvious why they are asking such a high price... it's sideways! All of mine are vertical, this is one of the "L@@K-RARE-VHTF" horizontal versions of this sticker. You do know that this means a WHOLE sheet got cut this way! (try putting a set of those together!) :o

Hmmmm. Place another tick mark in the "clueless" category.

I may ask them how far up their ass this seller went to find that starting price...

Seems likely they either think that's the rare one, or don't know, or are hoping some poor schmuck will buy it who doesn't know.
