... if he never said it was not a WB, then why is the word "NOT" so prominently in the ebay link?  :P

He is now on my no-fly list.

Here's his response to me (I basically just told him it was not a Series 1 tan, that it was a Wonder Bread):

It is a series 1 Tan Back sticker, I never said that it was not a Wonder Bread. It is how ever a 1973 1st Series Tan Back - Wonder Bread Edition. I have revised my post, If someone wants it they will buy it for the amount I am asking. Good Day.

Geez, what an anus.

He says he revised it, but there is still nothing mentioned about it being a Wonder Bread Card.

Yeah, he only removed the word "NOT" (the word he says he never used!) from the title (see his other listings for a true tan back 1st).

The odds are 99% that his Gadzooka is a wonder bread also. There's no conclusive way to prove it, unfortunately.

Speaking of Wonder Bread, what's going on in this auction? Seller claims this is an OS series 1 set, but every visible card is a Wonder Bread.

Oh the fascinating nuances of wackys! This is actually a 1st series UK set. This seller is from England, and has both the first and second series UK sets up right now. It's actually very cool, because for the UK titles from the later original series, there's no conclusive way to prove they are UK stickers, except to obtain them in a set like this that originated in the UK.

Actually those look like U.K. series to me.  There's no Paul Maul Wonderbread, the wrapper is blue, and the shipping location is U.K.

Is there any way to tell the difference between a UK and Wonder Bread title that overlaps between the two sets?

Yes, the UK versions have the same copyright but with a asterisk (*) with it, and the Wonderbreads don't.  It's too bad that seller didn't show all of the cards in his pic, but I would guess they are all UK's.

I saw that wrapper and new it was the UK set.  Any idea what the first series set is worth?  He has a second set as well.  I know the puzzle for that one is worth a bit.

I have it as $425.00 (set) + $150.00 (puzzle), but that's for a solid EX+ to NM set, and although you can't see all of the set the ones you do see have some issues.  He describes it as "good" condition for whatever that's worth.

The problem is actually getting someone to pay that amount. I don't know how many collect all the different variations other than the forum members. The Irish set has come down over the years and that is unique.

Your right, to get the full amount you would need to be patient, but like I said it also has a lot to do with condition.  If that was an EX- set I would cut the price in half.

How many series were released in the UK? This guy is always selling boxes and sets of wackys. I've seen him auction boxes from the '79/80 reissues, 1985, and original series, and I think album stickers. If these were not sold in the UK then he has a mix of US/UK.

There were series 1 & 2 U.K releases and then there was the Irish set in 1985.

They come in all forms. This is 1 sweet tart, they come 1 in every box. This guy is trying to pay for half his box by selling it for this price. Some things really do make me LOL. The chump who buys this deserves to be ripped off. Someone alreay bought each card in the base set from this guy for .99 each.

Starting bid = $15.99         "In GOOD but RARE TRIM ERROR condition"

Rare trim error.  :^)... That's what his barber said when he charged him double after accidentally removing a large divet of hair. Rare trim error indeed.

The photo is pretty much going to sell this item alone.  It is a BEAUTY!  RARE!  Last of it's kind.  HTF! LOOK! You don't see these too often.  One sold recently for $200.  Don't wait!  Get it before someone else scoops it up.  This won't last long.  This sticker is MINT*!

*Except for the fact that it was left out in the scorching sun for 10 years, someone tried to clean it in the middle with some bleach, the glue softened and the sticker slid off it backing, the corners were nibbled on by rodents, it doesn't lay flat, it is actually a Wonderbread sticker, and it is slightly off-center.

Some of these auctions are starting to remind me of all those horrible infomercials that occurred back in the 1980's.  I can't believe they even believe what they are typing as a description sometimes.

The original BIN was $100, but the seller has come to his senses and reduced to $50. :^)

What? Italian bread? I always find that my hands are so greasy when I grab a slice of bread out of the bag. Oh, it was Bog Bread. Talk about pinching a loaf. What a doof.

I always wondered what the lowest PSA rating would be.  I couldn't imagine someone sending in a crap sticker for grading.  Well...I guess I now have the answer to my question.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/1973-Wacky-Packages-1st-Series-2-RED-LUDLOWS-SKIMPY-TIED-RARE-/360439486392?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item53ebde17b8

I wonder if there is a PSA 0.   LOL!  Funny stuff.  I can hear the conversation now, "I think I will send this crappy card in to see how crappy it is.  And, when it comes back with the worst rating, I am going to proudly display it in its PSA casing."

Did the guy ever consider taking it out of the case so someone might think it is better than a 1 rating?

The seller states "I knew going into the grading the cards were not in great shape, but I honestly felt they deserved higher than 1 and 2."

There is a lesson here....any card he lists as an EX is probably much closer to a VG. Any NM is probably an EX.
