A lavirus 10? I have no idea what that would go for. I would assume about $600-$1000.

I would think a NM tan Lavirus would be worth in the $200-$250.00 range.  I'm not knowledgeable about how much a PSA 10 would increase the value of an already NM card, but 3 to 4X seems like a lot to me.

It all depends on demand. In the vintage sports card world, the increase is astronomical because everyone on the planet wants a PSA 10  1952 Mickey Mantle and there exist very few. Obviously, the number of people who care enough about a tan-back Lavirus is much smaller. A PSA 10 Band-Ache White Back would definitely break the bank. It's largely a function of the profile of the card driving demand.

I would add: in sports cards, so many cards have been submitted to PSA that the population reports are meaningful. There are many BB card with endemically bad centering and they are legitimately rare in high grade as a result. There are a few wackys that fit that description also (Sweathard, 8-Lives, etc.) Garden variety wackys are hardly worth submitting to PSA. As a result, there could be some wackys here and there for which a PSA 8 doesn't exist. That doesn't mean they're rare or should command a premium. It just means no one has bothered to submit them yet. The whole "Population 1" justification for charging huge bucks for a graden variety wacky is logically flawed, but once in a while I guess you might convince a rich, uneducated registry collector.

Yes, I particularly get a kick out of the frequent 1982 or 1986 album stickers that show up on the Bay with "Population 1".

I'm confused? I think it's a fair price for a nice card.

OK, this may be slightly off topic but Nuts none the less.  How is it that this seller is selling an unopened pack of Halloween 2011 PC's? The only thing they sell is paperback books. How in the hell does granny even know about these things??? and get them in in less than 12 hours before going "out of stock"??  This one baffles the shit out of me.

Now this is a rare unopened pack! It's an 11th series pack with a 21-fold front and a (fake) 85-fold back. You don't see these everyday!

In fact he just accidentally showed the front of the 12th series pack he also has up with the back of the "11th". The scan of the 11th back (and every 9th and 11th he has ever offered) still show it to be fake, however.

Why would anyone buy anything from him?  We already established lots of his stuff is fake and now he can't even be bothered to show the exact scans of the products he is selling....

Good question. I believe some of his packs may be real, but no one ever mentions that this guy has used the same scans for about 15 9th, 11th and 12th series auctions. I would never risk dealing with him, that's for sure.

Anyone follow those uncut reprint sheet auctions?
10 sheets each of series 2, series 3 and series 4.
from a new seller, with no feedback.
I noticed they used the uncut sheet pics from Greg's site for the images in all the auctions. So I asked, twice, for pics of the actual sheets being sold in the auction, but never got a response - although they did respond to an earlier question I had.

0 rating is not comforting and stealing images even less so but something tells me these will turn out to be legit.  Anyone here win these auctions?  I didn't even notice them but I primarily ignore 1980s auctions.

I saw these, but the red flags were everywhere so I did not bid on them.  0 feedback, using Topps in the seller name to try for legitimacy, 10 sheets of each of these, not just one, and the lifted pics.  All of this lead me to not bid.  I doubt if this guy really has ten of each of these.  If he did have that many, why sell them all together?  Doesn't make a lot of sense.
Still looking for Series 17

I've received a private email from them, saying they have more of all 3 sheets sheets (in sets of 10!).

this seems similar to that guy that showed up years ago with several hundred of the Shedd's cards. The cards were initially really rare, and got big $, until everyone finally realized he had a never ending supply.
I wonder how many sheets they have in total.

The winning bidder left positive feedback, albeit vague, for all three sets of sheets.
If the seller has an unlimited supply, then I wonder if the prices for the sets will begin to drop to series one levels.

Can't the seller take a camera picture of them at least to show that he has them in his possession?  If I were interested I wouldn't bid unless I had some pictures.

BTW..the dude that won all 3 auctions won a Series 3 Sheet for $340+ for ONE sheet recently...looks like he's trying to corner the market..seems like he's not an avid Wacky collector/bidder...go figure.. ;D

This is a HUGE red flag.....if the winner of these auctions also overpaid to the tune of $340 for a series 3 reissue sheet, then the seller and winning bidder are one in the same and winning the single sheet for $340 was purely to create perception of market value for these sheets.  I smell a shill here!  This doesn't mean the seller doesn't have the sheets but his greed is going to get the better of him very soon!

I agree.  That's the same thing I thought when I read that.  Create a high price and get a positive feedback from a buyer.

Ebay fee could be well worth it if he thinks he is creating a fictional market of $300 for reissue sheets.  Interestingly, I have my series 4 reissue sheet out there and have listed it off and on in recent months and this bidder who won 10 of them didn't bid on mine.....I doubt he will bid on mine, he is purely shilling....

This bidder bought 10 sheets so that is $44 a sheet. I have no idea what you are selling yours for. Remember that eBay fees seem to be around 10% so this guy would have paid around $100 for a 1 rating. It doesn't add up.

You need to let go of the rating.....i Never said he wanted rating...I said he wanted to establish a bogus market value for the sheets he is peddling.  For all we know behind the scenes, he didn't complete the deal and got an ebay fee refund.  Notice how soon the feedback was left....do you really think 30 sheets of wackys was paid for and sent in two days?  Auction ended on Sunday(a non shipping day) and feedback was left at 3:00 am on Wednesday which means they were shipped on Monday and received on Tuesday.......

That was exactly what I was going to say.  Just do a mutual cancel and no fees.  I'm just not sure if that would remove the feedback though, but even if it did you could drag that out several weeks while you are selling sheets.

A feedback of 1 doesn't make him a stellar seller, I am sure he is not banking on one feedback making or breaking him.  I am sure he is much more interested in contacting under bidders to sell product that he thinks he has created a hyped market for.

You're probably right but I do think there is a difference from a zero feedback to someone who has one or two positives, as long as you think they are legit transactions of course.

Anyone know if the red ludlow print on this card is incorrect for a series one card?

IMO, I'd say this is likely legit. I know I've seen Luds with up to 5 camel sections on one card. But, I understand your questioning it. It does look odd, somehow.

What looks odd to me is that the card is so far away I can't even see the camels!
