Yep. A FB posting by Topps.

This set, as with the other recent ones, will have sketch cards.

But how much will the sketch cards be different from sketch cards of earlier series?  Aren't we kind of maxed out on certain characters - Cover Ghoul, Horrid, Crust, Kook, Vicejoy, Bald, just to name a few from the earliest series...would love it if certain Wackies from OS 1-16 that have been mostly neglected could be sketched, like Caraid, Virginia Slums, Jerk in Jail, Muler's, etc.

Yes, i severed all ties with Facebook about five years ago…when it all started getting SO rabid and SO political. Wouldn’t an e-mail to those of us on their e-mail list make sense? Im on board for any “new” stickers, even though they are running out of Original Series titles to reprint…

And will there be in it stickers that have been not quite as much reprinted as others have been? I hope that Topps consults the contents of the previous two Flashback series from 2008 so as not to repeat themselves too much.

It would be excellent if, say, Cracked Animals and Fearstone Tires made this list. Then we'd have peel-and-stick stickers of all 14 of the 14 pulled titles from the Die-Cuts at last! (and before anyone says anything, yes, I know Fearstone Tires was released twice as such, but those two stickers were smaller album-sized stickers, not normal regular-sized ones (2 1/8" x 3" compared to 2 1/2" by 3 1/2", respectively))

Ah...I get it! This year the Flashback celebrates the 50 year anniversary of titles from 1973. Next year will be 50th anniversary of titles from 1974. So on, and so on.

Looking forward to seeing what this set includes! Will there be anything brand new, like 1973 "Old School" bonus cards?

Hopefully it won't be hard on the wallet! Several series were released in 1973. So if this set reprints all of them, that could be around 150 base cards.

Yeah, a series of new old (Old School set I guess) would be more exciting, as would packs sold in a retail store to open. Bit this is probably very low cost for them to produce. I hope they at least do different border or background. To paraphrase BTO…”Any Wackys is good Wackys…so I took what i could get..”

Here is what we need from Topps as far as "normal-sized" peel-and-stick stickers:

Aquax can label
Cracked Animals die cut
Clodfather lost wacky
Dinky Gonuts album
Fanatik lost wacky
Fearstone die cut
Hawaiian Punks can label
Irvings lost wacky
Ivery Snow poster
Milk-Foam poster
Rotting Zone lost wacky
Smellette can label
Toadal poster/lost wacky
Tropicanine can label
Whale-O's album
White Duck can label
Winsome lost wacky

Various bonus stickers (Abrams books, 2010 calendar, and Old School) and Flashback 1&2 have given us all other die cuts, posters, can labels, albums, and lost wackys.

While I'm wishing for these titles, I might as well mention the non-repeated 1969 Ad titles :-)

Garbage baby food
Good and Empty
Guerilla
Melty Way
Metrekill
Mixwell Hearse lost wacky
Sludgsickle

Chrome encompassed the first 3 sets of 1973, so hopefully this release won't be Chrome without the chrome.

Yep it looks like 1973 without the Chrome is the 4th series, and the 5th series is on the fence between 1973 and 1974.   Could Topps be less creative?

Exactly.  Creativity.  I'd rather have a 4th - 6th Series Chrome with more of those great mixups / mashups that were in the original Chrome (although hopefully less scarce).  Maybe we can all come up with some proposed mixups / mashups ourselves from 4th - 6th series.  Possibly a new thread?

The ad is in today's email.  It says stickers, so it shouldn't be chrome, right?  It shows kiss cut stickers applied on the locker, so maybe??

Why would Cracked Animals and Fearstone be included in a set celebrating 1973?

yes, exactly!
if Super Impulse can kiss cut the Wacky mini stickers, and even those ultra tiny micro stickers, then Topps can certainly do a Flashback set that are all die cut.

Yeah, you're right, I forgot about that. I'm just still hoping that, one day, they'll both be able to get their due after all these years.

I’d be down if we got a slow re-release of all the OG stickers

I WAS joking about different borders. No one wants to have to collect six different color borders to be a completist. Even we are not that gullible…. ANS 7,8 and 9 were sheer madness…

And so were ANS10 and 11, Chrome, 2014 S1, 2015 S1, MLB, 50th Anniversary and Go to the Movies.

Btw, if you'd like to know where it all got started, you need look no further than Flashback and Flashback 2.

Did anybody really buy enough packs to complete all of those colored border variations?

Yes, one person bought enough boxes to put together a complete gold border set.  The other colors were much more readily doable. She is no longer in the hobby.

So once again back to the question of “to parallel or not parallel.”  As I’ve said before parallels give more options of how to collect a set so I am a fan. Obviously we’ve had ‘em since 2008 so the idea might feel a bit stale to some.  I did just come across this video of someone opening an ANS 8 bonus box and it’s fun to see him pulling some parallels and some of the awesome chase card that set had.  No surprises in this one but thought I would share if anyone wanted to “relive” crack’n a retail bonus box.

As Marc mentioned, one person did obtain all the golds (maybe more than one person?), the other colors being relatively easy. For example, I have complete sets of the four other colors. These didn't all come from opening packs myself. I traded/purchased to fill holes.
