In September, Topps sent me my August order - and they all had January base sets. As instructed, I sent them back to them for a replacement. After numerous emails, all taking weeks to get a response, I finally got my replacement shipment today!
It's exactly the wrong sets I sent in.
Friggin morons!
Fortunately, Zenergizer gave me an August base set and the bonus cards were correct and I was able to complete the month set.
Good lord, Topps "customer service" is the worst. All's well that ends well but I should get something for the hassle.
Lavirus, I also got sent January base sets instead of August sets. After a few emails to customer service, Topps finally "authorized" replacements, saying they'll be sending me a shipping notice and tracking number. That was on Sept. 23. So far, no shipping notice, no tracking number, and no August sets from them.
Like you, someone on the Forum (Thanks again, Raw Goo!) helped me out with the base set. I think it's great that Forum members will help each other out like that!
Fortunately, like you, my bonus cards were August, so I was able to put together a complete set. But knowing that you received wrong replacements makes me wonder what I'll get if/when Topps finally sends the replacements.
