I'm glad you all seem to like the Easter-related Wackys! The one problem was finding "spoof-able" targets, since there are relatively few Easter-specific products. If you all have any particular suggestions for items to crack on, I'd really appreciate the help! - Pete

Just from the wrapper title card, it looks like the major name brands of specific Easter candies are covered.  Maybe a Russell Stover egg or bunny title?  Jelly beans?

Paas was already done really well as a bonus card in ANS, but maybe there is something else to do with that.

I can only imagine what people could come up with for "Easter Grass," but I'm sure that will be a non-starter with Topps  :o

Thanks for the ideas! What about "Ether Grass" with a bunny knocked out from the fumes? I may have to draw that up! - Pete

I considered this when I saw the Easter parodies on the April wrapper, and came to the same conclusion that April makes sense.  I guess the problem is that Easter is sometimes in March.  But, this year it was April.

Since Easter can range from March 22 to April 25, there are 10 days in March and 25 in April, so if every date had an equal chance, there would be a 5/7 chance that it would fall in April.  And actually March 22nd only occurs around once every 450 years, so it's even better than 5/7 chance for April.

Has the misspelling in Subpar-ro been brought up? Is it on purpose... you know, because it's "sub-par"?

I was hoping it was deliberate.

Damn, I hate Topps website.

Went to order the new set and had to go through a new security page to check my browser and answer captchas.

Then I had to log in and answer MORE captchas.  Then it emptied my cart.

The I went to the cart and there were double the sets.

Then I had to wrestle with it to edit the cart.  Finally deleted the cart and started over.

Walked through the slow screens to get to the payment and finish the order.

God, why such an ordeal to order some stickers???

They are probably preparing for next week when they release their first Baseball NFT set.   Probably going to sell out fast and they don't want bots ordering.  Personally, I am going to pass. Just a guess.

My first attempt to order never made it to the cart, and then I had to do captcha twice as well.  The NFT is the blockchain stuff, right?  I hope they never do that with Wackys.

I'm still surprised the GPK was their first NFT, and not baseball. Those sold out in seconds. I'm sure this'll be the same.
I think you're right about the extra levels of bot denials being set up for this.

Mattel now has virtual Hot Wheels.  They have a Hot Wheels ID Free App. When you purchase a Hot Wheels ID Car, the car has a chip on the base that allows you to scan the car which puts a virtual version of it in your app. So for the most part , you have a real car and can also race it in the app. They do have a few virtual only cars that were given out at events in the form of a scannable chip only. So there is not much resale of the virtual cars; as most people collect them physically and virtually. The virtual cars look pretty cool. So the concept is spreading to other areas quickly.

Getting people ready for digital currency and introducing blockchain technology into the vernacular.  A lot of people seem to be ready for this blockchain changeover.  I mean what if the digital art asset (sticker, 3d-model, etc) could be holographic and the detail indiscernible from reality (in the future)?  Since the qty available at the time of sale is secured in the blockchain, it will be a real way to collect.  I am old so I don't get it, but a lot of people are ready to go.  We've had digital video games for a while (which I try to stay away from).

Wait until food is on the blockchain.  Then we're going to get pretty slim and trim.   :]

Have you ever had an empty bottle?  Well, it wasn't really empty because there wasn't a vacuum inside it - there was air.  So you really didn't have something intangible, you had a bottle of air.  NFT is kind of like that.  You can't really hold it (except in its container) and you can see it, but you can't really remove it from the container to examine it, so you can't truly hold it in your hand.  I don't see the appeal either.

More stuff on servers that I'll have to buy electronic protection against being hacked?  Maybe even blockchain loss insurance?   >( >(

I'm sure that's coming!

I'm too old school.  I want something I can hold in my hand - even magazines that I want to keep.  The ones I'm going to read and toss can be electronic.

Will we ever see NFT comic books?  Would that make any sense?

I got emails from Topps and Paypal about my April order from yesterday, but it doesn't show in my Topps account.  Has anyone else noticed this?  just to check my Topps account this afternoon I had to do 6 Captchas!

In the April Wacky Packages set: Was "Furious George" a contender for the 2014 Wacky Packages series RIDICIOUS READS subset but might have gotten replaced in favor of a lost 1990's Wacky called "Richie Retch"?

If you look on the Spreadsheet, ANS4 was going to have card backs called Wacky DVDs before the Wacky Coupons were kept. Seven roughs of these are known to exist; one of them was Furious George.

UPDATE: The number is now 11; see below.

Here's the ANS4 concept you're referring to:

And here are the 6 dvd titles that were originally planned for ANS4:

AMENDMENT: i had originally credited Paul Harris as the writer for some of the ANS tv/movie concepts, but I meant to say Adam Harris. He  was the original writer for "Furious George", "Scary Poppins",  "Gnome Alone", and "Gross". My apologies for the mixup Adam!

I drew the April Furious George because I thought the Ridiculous Reads were hilarious, and wanted to add to the library. I didn't know the idea had been suggested before. I sent in several others at the same time, including "Are you my Mugger?"- Pete's

If memory serves correctly, Paul Harris was the original writer for "Scary Poppins" and "Gnome Alone" but I'm not 100% certain. Maybe Paul can verify that.
Hey Neil, if you look at the Lost Wackys page at lostwackys.com, you'll see some you missed. They are:

*Dawn of the Dead Head,
*Fiends,
*March of the Penguin,
*The Simpletons,
*Swinefeld.

You should add these to the picture as well.

And you did the rough art for most, if not all, of these, you modest fellow, you!

Too bad Scary Poppins and Gnome Alone can't make future Wacky monthly sets thanks to Disney's C&D on Wackys after the planned but withdrawn Star Wars Wacky Packages set situation.

The Grease spoof "Gross" could be revamped as a takeoff of the 1978 Grease movie soundtrack album for a future Wacky Packages Old School series (Even if it part of a 1970's subset!).
