Hello All!
As I had mentioned in the Galactic Groceries thread, I would be posting some information regarding the upcoming Allentown show that Roxanne Toser sent me last night and this morning. I will list her installments in separate posts to keep things from getting confusing. The first one is shown below...
Both the 69th and 70th Philly Non-Sports Card Shows have a theme. The theme is Wackys and GPK. The top-tier artist lineup for the October 20th & 21st show is: Tom Bunk, Smokin' Joe, David Gross, Joe Simko, Layron DeJarnette and Chad Scheres. In order to defray the cost for the artists, we have sponsors who have pledged $250 and they are: Aaron Booton, Mark Simon, Matt Stock, Brian McKnight, GPK & Wacky Warehouse and Sidekick.
There will be a promo for all show attendees by Brent Engstrom. Topps has chipped in with a generous donation to help with the artists and to reduce the cost for collectors attending the Saturday Night Dinner at the Airport Hilton Garden Inn (host hotel). Topps is also allowing two dinner-only promos produced by Joe Simko and Fred Wheaton. These will have a Halloween theme for Wackys and GPK. There is only room for 64 people to attend the dinner and only those attending the dinner will receive the promos. There will also be an exclusive promo from Mark Pingatore, as well as an assortment of prizes from Creepy, Co. and a t-shirt from Fright Rags. To register for the dinner contact roxannetoser@gmail.com. Thanks to Topps, the cost for the dinner is only $17.95 pp.
The spring show is May 4th & 5th, 2019 and will continue the theme. The top-tier artist lineup is Mark Pingatore, Fred Wheaton, Jeff Zapata, James Warhola, Neil Camera and one more artist to be determined. A couple more artist sponsors are needed for a pledge of $250. At both shows, the artists will draw a color sketch for their sponsor. There will, again, be two dinner-only promos, with permission from Topps. These will have a spring theme and will be drawn by Layron DeJarnette and Chenduz. The spring promos will be numbered 3 and 4 and the fall promos will be numbered 1 and 2 so the four will be considered a set.
The show is held at the Merchants Square Mall in Allentown, PA. Show hours are 10 to 5 on Saturday and 10 to 3 on Sunday. We have a rate at the Airport Hilton Garden Inn of $97 + tax, which includes a fully-cooked breakfast for two. For more information: phillynon-sportscardshow.com/.
