Mark Alfrey (Plan 9) is in Loveland, CO for the big art show. I live in Loveland so it was great to go out there and meet Mark for the first time.
Here is a picture of Mark and me along with Mark's sculptures. It was funny seeing these guys come over and take pictures of the statues. Mark said he even had a church lady preaching to him about his pornography...LOL It's an art show, what the hell do you expect. When is a sculpture of a woman's body considered porn? Women's bodies are beautiful and not dirty. Crazy! Anyway it was great to meet up. It's just so ironic that he had an art exhibit in my town.

It was really great meeting you in person, Brad. If you do come back tomorrow bring some Wackys. We'll stick them on church lady's back. That alligator looks tiny in the photo. It's actually a 6 foot long bronze.

I haven't been to that Target since FB2. The flyer isn't that big of deal to me so at least it went into a collectors hands instead of the trash!
It was great meeting you as well and I think my family is up for an art excursion so we will most likely be there tomorrow. I will bring some wacky's and even that Ronald Reagan statue might have some wacky graffiti
Hope you have a great experience here in Colorado. I was only there for a couple hours but I could see the excitement of your pieces to collectors. When I left wasn't that the owner of Hooters that said he wanted one of your pieces?

Did you purposely take this photo with the Funnel Cakes sign in the background? 

His alien girls are beginning to grow on me. I’d like one standing next to my desk at work to hang my hat on and to pat on the butt every once in a while when work gets boring. I’ve been curious about Mark’s bronzes and it’s neat to see some of them. I particularly like the gator, the mohawked Brits, the acrobat balancing on the ball, and that playful looking winged woman on the back of the turtle caught my eye and is interesting to me. I wonder if Mark has a developed a standard response for people who “object” to some of his work. Maybe if he made them less muscular and more chubby, people wouldn’t notice them as much. I’ll bet he get’s more objections in CO than in CA. Here in California, fairgoers would be complaining because his alien girls are not motorized animatronic sex toys that shout your name at the proper time.
