Always liked this one but hate the "free antidote inside".  Why not free anything at all that refers to brain or skull like "free cranium inside"

Or Free Thinking?

I like it Doctor!

I agree, "free antidote inside" is lame.      I guess it refers to an antidote "For the cereal that goes to your head"

Some ideas I thought of are

    "Contains complimentary grey matter"

    "Topps frontal lobe inside"

    "Therapy included"

"For thinking outside of the box."

    "No pain, no gain"

OK, now I'm being ridiculous . . .

Ate a ton of this stuff when I was a kid so I always liked the parody. I never realized how poorly rendered the characters where on the Wacky Ad until comparing side by side. This one may be in the running for most improved Wacky from Ad to sticker.

A few things with this one.  First off, always loved it.  Great product recognition, plus I loved the flies.  I always wondered why this one was all black. It really stands out compared to almost all other Wacky's, just like Fearstone does for its uniqueness.  And even as a kid, i wondered why the tape was sticky on top, when the sticky part is underneath.

Also, just noticing now, What the heck happened to that middle fly!!!

Good point...I never though about that. Just goes to show how much they Botched the manufacturing of this product  ;)

Or if done today, to stay topical, replace "Wheat Bran Cereal" with "Walking Dead Cereal".

I always wondered why the kids heads were so big in the Wacky version, but after seeing the real cereal box, I guess they did it directly as from the box.  Those kids have big old heads!
Still looking for Series 17

Another tough one to find a pic old enough to match the wacky. Sorry for the poor quality, had to pull from and old magazine ad online. I always liked this Wacky. Its the Russian character that does it for me.

I like this gag a lot, and the changes made from the Ad artwork to OS2 are phenomenal in every way.  I especially like the bottle on the label in OS2.

I'm realizing something...

44 DIE CUTS
36 WACKY ADS
8 SERIES 2 TITLES THAT WERE "NEW"

36+8=44

Maybe the 2nd series new titles were dropped from wacky ads and repainted for the 2nd series?
The world will never know.

For Series 2 review, should we skip over the titles that were already covered in Wacky Ads?

That is definitely the perfect match!  It isn't a bad gag, but it's so-so for me for Series 2.  Of course, the packaging didn't offer much opportunity.

I was always fond of this wacky even though it's quite simple. The change from "cabin" to "cave-in" tickles my funny bone for some reason as well as the caved-in cabin "character" . Had to add a picture of the cool old cabin container below.

1973 Series 2 - Log Cave In
The first of the true 70's wacky, and a good one.
Dramatic increase in detail and realism compared to the simpler Ad refreshes and many of the die cards.
I think this is the last of the 2nd series for me to finally see, not until the late 90's if I remember right. Never saw it as a kid and it wasn't in the reprints either. It was always a mystery title on the checklist.

I like this gag.  The caved in cabin on the label is perfect, and the pioneer inside the bottle cracks me up.  This is another product that I still call by the Wacky name.

Another one I really like. Another example where the product shape was altered to better fit a rectangular card.

This pic looks like a screen capture from a television commercial but mirrors the letter coloring found on the Wacky but not the background color...

For a couple of reasons: The title implies you're getting ripped off by the product and "No Flavor" is describing the food in a disparaging way. Both are no-no's nowadays.

That's just ridiculous!  I guess titles like Cap'n Crud and Awful Bits would be rejected, too.
