If no one has posted the original product yet - I'm still only on page 4 or so - I do recall the soup mix with a red and white checkered table cloth or pattern on the box.

Check page 5 of the thread. I posted a photo of a box that is closer in design.

A good gag, and had it been a Series 2 sticker I'd probably be calling the real product by the Wacky name.

I liked this one as a kid because I instantly recognized the packaging, but I think the gag is weak.

I didn't see the ads until years later. Sludgsicle is one of the gags that I still find frustrating that it couldn't be in the sticker series.

A good gag, and had it been a Series 2 sticker I'd probably be calling the real product by the Wacky name.

This gag is awful, awful awful.  Is there any oddball rationalization to this one?  Maybe some odd reference to Egyptian prime ministers or something?

I often wonder if Norm Saunders hated painting some of these gags. As a kid I never understood this one and now its just ho-hum- a filler gag.

In hindsight- it would have been funny if they tied in the Witches of Salem or something in that realm.

Botch for Scotch is a solid gag. And I love those flies! For me, though the packaging never had that Wacky realism, the kind that jumped out at me. Always seemed a little flat, not like something I could reach in and pick up. I'm sure part of it was I don't remember seeing Scotch Tape packaged that way in real life.

What bothers me about the Botch art is the execution seems flat compared to what the actual product it was based on now that I see now in the actual photo. The perspective is a bit weak and probably was rushed a bit at the time.

Same here.  This one is so simple, but for some reason I loved this one as a kid.  No character or anything.  Even the tag line makes no sense (how do you sail a cigarette?) but I liked it anyway.  Now, they really could have made a cool sticker for the town of Salem, and included a cool witch or something like that.  Maybe a witch being burned at the stake while lighting her cigarette on the flames from the fire?
Still looking for Series 17

A few things with this one.  First off, always loved it.  Great product recognition, plus I loved the flies.  I always wondered why this one was all black. It really stands out compared to almost all other Wacky's, just like Fearstone does for its uniqueness.  And even as a kid, i wondered why the tape was sticky on top, when the sticky part is underneath.

Also, just noticing now, What the heck happened to that middle fly!!!

I always assumed that if it just had a standard black border around the image it would look odd, as there would only be a very small area of the border which would remain white. Probably looked better to just blacken the whole border like they did.
