The Blunder title in and of itself isn't a great obvious gag like Ajerx, but I always just figured they made a mistake baking the bread and it came out really heavy, instead of light and fluffy like it was supposed to.  The packaging is so well done that it was, and still is, a favorite of mine.  Maybe this one is just pure nostalgia for me.

I had no idea what this product was as a kid. How about tags like "Sludge Flavored", "New waste", and "Proven Defective"  to match the original more closely.

I am also unfamiliar with the product, the wacky doesn't nothing for me, I know skeleton stuff appeals to many, this is a bottom 10% wacky for me

Another instance where there is not much on the original packaging to work with. Another WP I rate a "meh".

As a kid, there was no candy or soda I didn't like, but I never had a hankering for Yoo Hoo. Another example where the WP artist did not have much of a starting point to work with. I didn't find any photo evidence that Yoo Hoo came in a short bottle matching that packaging style back in the 1970s, so may be another incidence where the WP artist took artistic license for a better fit on the sticker.

This is a pretty obvious gag, and while this isn't one of my favorite Wackys, it's not bad.  There was very little for the artist to work with packaging-wise, but at least they got a decent crying guy on the label.

The tomato lost his right foot in transition from the ad to the sticker  ;)   I love noticing these little subtleties

Comparing the 2nd series to the ads also reinforces my feeling that Saunders' precision and attention to detail with packaging is one of the biggest reasons wackys are so appealing.

Agreed. I never understood this one as a kid.  Not sure what "Lovelier stains" exactly means.  And where did the chicken come from?  Why not just call it Fat, And go from there.

I thought the reference for this was the term "Chicken Fat" coined for MAD comics to describe all the lovely detail and gags Bill Elder put into his work.  The term references Jewish cooking and Chicken Fat which is the tasty part of Chicken Soup.

yes, I quoted David Saunders recent email to me.  I always found it interesting how misinformation flows through this hobby.  "Norm did all of the diecuts" really is completely wrong as it suggests Norm did 100% of all of paintings. In fact, he didn't do 100% of ANY of the paintings and he did 0% of Boredoms according to David.

Dave S(Paul Maul here) is probably correct that as series 2 and later series came about, Norm did higher % of the whole wacky which included doing the packaging.

Being the owner of the original art to Hurts, of course I love it!  Isn't it ironic that I was going to be the one to "sell out" my art and I only collected the art to flip it yet every one of those folks endedup being the sellouts and have sold all of their art?  I still own Hurts and several other pieces.  I have gotten a few really generous offers for Hurts but the timing was never right.  Some day someone will catch me right and I will sell it but for now, it is easy to say that not all the "A" pieces are in one art collection(Eric's).  There are several wacky art collections that have quite a few pieces but just no "A" pieces so maybe Hurts will one day go there.

Well in terms of Norm's work I don't believe he ever did any airbrushing on Wackys.  So if a Wacky contains airbrushing he couldn't have done 100% of it.
