Wrapping up the vintage series 15 - Bloodweiser compared to Budweiser. Does that bottle shape exist in reality for what was used in the parody?

I think what you're showing is a hit on the real product used for the parody. What makes you think otherwise?

Thanks for the product picture - that is an awesome match!!  I have always loved this Wacky, great gag, neat vampire, the blood taglines fit in perfectly, and the vulture on the glass bottle is wonderful.

The parody bottle appears more rounded on top, like it's a larger sized bottle.

Perhaps that is artistic license to make it look more like an old fashioned glass blood bottle?

Especially given the word "plasma" on the parody...

And "1 Pint."  I always thought the bottle was misshapen to match a blood bottle, so I was thrilled to see today that there actually were short and stubby Bud bottles back then.

I always suspected that a quart or 32-oz bottle (same thing?) might have been used, and shortened/widened to optimize the card dimensions, like 6 Urp from the 9th and a handful of others.  Hadn’t considered the old fashioned plasma bottle suggested here, that may well be the answer.

With the original series, artists made a concerted effort to design the art to fill out the sticker. You can see it on a lot of the early parodies. Some you don't really notice until you examine them. I think you have the right bottle!

A roommate of mine once had to memorize the Bud label for his fraternity initiation--this version is far less busy, even with the character added.

I think someone pointed out that vampires were the most common imaginary creatures depicted in the original run. (Spoiler alert: more to come.)

Thank you! This is what excites me most about Wacky Packages - the artistry and design of it all. It's fun and challenging trying to locate images of the exact packaging to match over the years.

I think Regal Crown can be found at Cracker Barrel, too.

Btw, is the real name for Regal Clown Cherry Bombs Regal Crown Cherry Sours or Regal Crown Sour Cherry?

This is a good example of the original artists playing with the packaging dimensions to fill out the sticker. I'm a fan of that because it makes the art bigger with there's less wasted space.

Agreed, and this is one of the more subtle examples - package didn’t have to be shortened by much to optimize the card dimensions.  Conversely, in a title like Big Baddy, the distortion had to be severe, because those packs must have been only about 1/2” to 3/4” wide, but a foot or more long.

I guess when viewed in portrait mode it’s along the side rather than upside down.

Yes, but if you put the sticker in the page in the landscape orientation used for other titles, this one is different.

Ditto that - I think others have noted before that a real product image has proven elusive.  So kudos to Swiski for finding this image.  That being said, I’m sure I ate this type of pellet candy on numerous occasions in my misspent youth, it looks very familiar.  Probably a different product than this though.  There are a lot of novelty candy products, especially around holidays, where a toy topper or the container itself is the bigger draw, and the candy itself is just the cheapest crap imaginable.  Thats what these round BBs remind me of.

I assume all stickers are Mike, or this collector community would know about it, and Greg would mention it on his site. For some reason this title reminds me of the phrase "If it bleeds, it leads".

I was never sure why the characters are holding their noses on this one when the imminent threat is detonation. Perhaps Scoot is both explosive and  malodorous.

Not sure which Scope parody is better. I love the flames and Godzilla theme on Scorch, but the Scoot has the TNT joke that referenced the T25 wording on the label.

Earth Barn has a little more pizzazz I guess, as far as visuals are concerned, but Earth Bum looks more like a traditional OS Wacky and is a better product match.  Come to think of it, I don’t know if Earth Born ever matched the Earth Barn graphics.

Interesting that the repeat parody on the same product occurred in consecutive series in this case.  Suggests the creators may have been struggling by this point to find good product candidates.

Also the ‘bum’ theme is something you wouldn’t see today.  Yubum coffee, Bum’s Life magazine, there’s a handful of them.  Like Rotsa Root, too un-PC for today’s audience.

I like this title, great skull-head character, but I agree that I don’t think a GH wrapper ever looked like this.  It looks like a shiny red wax candle broken off at one end.  I get that there’s a blood theme, but very odd nonetheless.  Vintage packaging image is awesome.  I remember those 2-flavor swirled ice pops very well.  I think other companies made them similarly as well.  Some were twin pops you could break into two, and some were singles wrapped individually.

Don’t think I ever looked this one up to see what the real product name is, or what it looks like.  Very cool that there’s a real kid to spoof, much like Slayskool.
