General Wacky Packages Discussion / Re: Found A Few of My Original Wackys

Thanks for the comments. My main childhood collection is long gone as well as my extras at the time. I usually was very meticulous in getting everything together and sorting everything out, but these must have just fallen through the cracks.

Here are the 2 stickers that were in the pack:

The only 2 stickers that survived my childhood in NM-MT condition :)
roll the dice and get the Mrs Smalls graded, there are no 10's and like 4 9's on the market.  Centering might keep it an 8 or lower but I am not expert in the random world called PSA grading...

General Wacky Packages Discussion / Re: Paper on Art Speigelman

Saving some roughs is great, but I'm talking about the stories behind the early days. Like what was the reason Art parted ways with Topps? Or who made the decision to stop at 16, and why? These stories will fade away and vanish if no one writes them down and gathers them together. We might even be able to scrounge enough up to put a book together! Wouldn't that be a great way to celebrate Wacky Packages' longevity?
Yes, I think it's a great idea! How does one get started?

Buy Requests for Wacky Packages / Re: Lavirus' Want List

Picked up the odd glossy promos that came out around ANS6 - one set of 9 cards and one make-your-own set of 14.

I've finally organized all of my cards and have some extra sets of these, so if anybody am interested in purchasing a set, let me know.

I have lots of extra letters too, if anybody would want some singles for any reason.

Well, it seems that my worst fears have been realized. Brick-and-mortar stores that sell Wackys are as dead as a dodo.
No Topps WP products are sold at retail stores, haven’t been for years.  The only thing in question is the 3D minis, which are made and marketed by a separate company.  With recent news of Series 4 being on hold, cancelled or whatever, the only thing you have to lament is finding no lingering Series 1, 2 or 3 stock.

General Wacky Packages Discussion / Re: Collecting strategy

I would suspect you're in a small club there. Seems like the '85s get very little love, along with the '91s. Good for you, though, for this and having some unique items like that.

Think of it like the mafia. Your collecting roots have to be traced back to prove you bought these from your local quickie mart in 1985.

Buy Requests for Wacky Packages / Re: Blunder Bread items
« Last post by MoldRush on February 26, 2024, 01:08:58 PM »
Thanks for the feedback. I too have many other favorites, but not a lot of $funds$ to create such a collection for everyone of my favs. It is truly amazing on how many items contain images of Blunder bread and how many sets have this character or something similar to it.

I still collect all other WP when possible, but Blunder will always be my favorite.

You make a good point - not every title has been so abundantly reprinted, some hardly ever at all.  Goes back to the theory that Topps has underutilized titles for which they lack high-quality scans.  Though I’m thinking that may not explain every title that’s been ignored time and time again.  For maximum iconic status, Blunder Bread is right up there with all the greats.
