Is this the week we start to see pre-orders for the first of the 2023 All New Wacky Packages Monthly series? If so, for 2023, will they still be monthly unless it is switched to bi-monthly? Will there be more new 2023 Wonkys and Wacky Pals comics each month? Unless Wonkys are replaced by something else maybe the return of Wacky portraits?

Looking at the sales which peaked in December 2021 but have been holding in the 400-500 range in 2022, I wonder if they'll continue. I also wonder how many of these sales were multiples by forum members to get a complete set and how many were multiples by "investors" to flip and resell. I know that I haven't bought any because I can buy what I want for much less in the secondary market.

I've got a great idea for what the box for this series should look like.
Since Topps did yellow with a red logo for the All New Monthly Series 2021 and red with a yellow logo for the All New Monthly Series 2022, this series should be blue with a yellow logo, thus using the three most-used patterns the wax wrappers used for the 1973-1977 OS.

Is the January 2023 set supposed to go up for pre-order this Wednesday or the week after? Looking forward to what Topps has planned this year!

If they continue with a 2023 series, I would prefer them to be at least bimonthly. I haven't even had time to catch up to familiarize myself with all the base cards on a monthly basis. I think it's just too much product.
That's why I like the OS series. Once a year (usually) and it's something to look forward to. You appreciate it more if there's less of it produced.

It’s been 2nd Wednesday of the month, so this week if they keep the schedule- and if the monthly sets are actually continuing

Exactly. There won't be any monthly (OR bi-monthly OR Quartely) sets this year. But we will get some new wackys in 2023!

Good! Aside from new Wackys I like my Wonkys!! I believe there have been 129 of them so far, plus 14 Wonky Ads.

Actually glad to hear that, from two perspectives: (1) easier on the wallet and (2) will give us a chance to look back at and appreciate what we've gotten in all the monthlies to date, for those of us that have been so busy doing trades and completing sets that we haven't had time to really contemplate and appreciate the great artwork and humor of the high volume of Wackies in those monthlies. There are many LOL-worthy Wackies among those monthlies!

Yes, I am waiting for the December set to arrive, then I will put the last 6 months in pages and truly enjoy them. Glad to hear someone else is behind on their set appreciation, too!

Thanks to the Makers here who posted with an update...that's what I wanted to check since there was no solicitation today. I have to admit, it's bittersweet. We were treated to almost a Wacky a day with the monthlies. While it was hard on the wallet, especially being a completist for the sub-series (Wonky Packages and the sets of four Comics each month or whatever preceded it).
Parting thoughts:
1) A few "thanks" to the team...there were a lot of really good Wackies in the monthly series. Some misses, but so many good ones and some all-timers I thought. Amazing output of work.
2) The Comic sub-set was GENIUS and easily the best of all of the sub-sets, with more value to me that high school pics or trading cards. We get to see characters come to life, in their Wacky product context, even if briefly....that was awesome. If Monthlies do continue, and I hope they can in a future year, please consider my vote for continuing these.

Glad to hear you enjoyed the comics so much! That was one of my favorite things to work on, especially because they gave me a lot of freedom to write and draw them. Hope to bring them back in 2023!

True, but the newer wackys just don't have the same appeal to me. The artwork and the gags are just as good or even better, but I'm not 9 years old like I was in 1973 when I first fell in love with them. So I'm no longer a completist when it comes to the new sets; I buy a base set and the comics just so I have them. I'd really rather have the coupon backs because I think the puzzle back is overrated, but if I'm going to drop the kind of money it takes to do that, I'd rather tackle something from my OS want list like 1st and 2nd ludlows, 3rd whites, 13th whites, 14th tri-folds, or unopened packs.
If Topps would let me buy what I want instead of entering the collation lottery, maybe I'd buy directly instead of from another forum member.

Perhaps a re-release of the original 16, except ALL WONKY Versions - Sell as a MEGA SET!
- Include one color and one B&W Sketch for each series (2 cards per series)
- 4 Binders Included (A nod to Roxxane for her contributions to our Art)
- Special Full Size (8.5 x 11) Color Sketch for each Complete Set

I know, it is lonely here! I am going through my stuff, looking for missing things, and trying to organize the Print on Demand cards from 2017. Yikes, what a MESS those are!! Seems I skipped a LOT of them.

Richard, no? Well that was a bit of a crazy time with new cards popping up constantly so I guess they were hard to follow. Also to add to the confusion the Nerwork Spews were a mix of Wacky and GPK. Here’s a pic of the backs. As you can see these all came out in the first half of 2017.

I'm glad to hear that there are indeed some plans for Wackys in '23. I was happy to see the image this morning of a Minis series 4 box. Love the fact that these will be at retail. I know it's been said plenty of times before, but I wish Topps would release a deck of playing cards based on that subset. And any new Wonkys or Wacky Pals would be well received by me.
