Has Jay signed up on the board yet?  I saw he is signed up over on the other one.  I hope he has time to visit here also.

Jay, great.  I think a number of us are registered on both boards - though some might only post in one place or the other.  It's all good.

Go to edit your post and see what I did to make it a spoiler. I just highlighted the whole line and then clicked on the SP button above. Cool! This way people won't stumble on it without warning. This is still art it's not pornography. There is a huge distinction :o

Scholars of my work may wish to check their library for a book published in the '70s titled MIND IN THE WATERS.  This is a book about the intelligence of dolphins.  In this book there is a lengthy analysis on  the meaning of my cover to Roxy Comics #1.  I know the image on the cover is more porpoise than dolphin...but they cover that too.

Don't tell anybody and it will be all right.   Most parody names of products are in the air around us anyway.

What an ASS! Jay, don't even give this guy the energy for a response. You have every right to notify us of what you have for sale or any projects your involved in.
Hi I'm Liquidfox I like to act like a moron because I have no talent at all. I like to disrespect one of the most iconic artist of our time. It should be an honor to be on a forum with such talent but I'm too much of a wasteoid to know any difference.
Get a life and realize what your posting. Idiot!

Aah.  No big deal.  I enjoy healthy debate and critique.  The whole genesis of these Wacky Packages things in the first place was to enter the irreverent criticism of the societal icons of corporate culture into the national dialog.  Now, 40 years later, the icon smashers have themselves become icons.  It's quite the conundrum.  But then as now, I still gotta pay my gas and electric bills.

What critique? The guy is an obvious troll. I don't think he realizes even artists need to make money. Maybe you can just live on your good looks  :P
I don't think he has actually seen your real work to analyze your whole body of work. It's pretty sad when someone comes on the forum and makes a total ass of themselves because they are so small they don't even realize there is actually talent and labor going into art. What a dip shit! He must be living on an island to not think people use their talent to make money. Duh!
I'm sorry but this crossed the line for me. I'm passionate about this hobby to have one guy come on and bash an artist. Little does he know if he bashes all the artists there will not be Wackys. What a total loser!

Someone who enjoys analyzing/ observing the financial dynamic that is this thing called Wacky Packages. While I appreciate the kind words of the forum members, I must point out that in your selfless defense of Mr. Lynch you failed to realize it was you that I was taking a stab at.

It seems like a stab at both Jay and the forum members. It puzzles me why someone who is in a Wacky fan forum would mock one of the legendary Wacky founders and the people who love his art. No one is forcing anyone to buy the art (as far as I know).

Even more odd is why you would bash art buyers, being one yourself by commissioning that GPK return card you posted about.
Title: Re: Welcome

News alert! This guy is a total GPK troll. " hey, everything should be free and no one should make a profit?"
What a load of crap! This guy thinks if we collect anything he doesn't approve of we are just idiots for spending money on anything such as sketches because they won't hold their value. This clown is all about what the value is in a card.I just told him that value is not the reason we collect. If I thought I could retire on my sketches I should get a check up from the neck up. No one knows any future values. Not too many probably really care because it's their own collection.
I should just list my sketches a page at a time and say " this sheet is valued at $1500" you guys would think I'm a total value oriented idiot.
It's time for Liquidfox to get a life. One where Topps sends him free stuff and we are all not losers for collecting the bonus sketches.  I hate not being able to collect stuff because Topps may be making a profit.
Ass hole!

By the way, "can I make a profit?" there, I just translated it for you. No reason the artists shouldn't but as long as you can then it all right . What a load of crap.

Liquid fox you should really try and be more condescending to us collectors and be more criticizing of our artists. That should help your shallow ego.

There some people that aren't even worthy of a response or explanation, and this clown seems to be one of them.

The fine art parody ones that came with the sets are equally detailed, although they are line drawings rather than wash drawings.

Ah, some lucky schlep scored this Jayzeynardo for $765!

For some reason I thought of Hogans Heroes when I read the word "intelligentsia"

Several of the sketch cards Lynch did for this series used his characters from the Old Spikes Wacky Packages postcards in parodies of famous works of art. In this one, Lynch's executioner character poses as Leonardo daVinci's Mona Lisa character, made famous by daVinci's famous 16th century sketch card which hangs in the Louvre Museum in Paris. Though tempted to sign his piece Jayzeynardo daLynchi, Lynch ultimately signed it with his own signature in order to assure that this piece retains its highest value over the millennia. The original Mona Lisa is revered today as a classic work of art. Yet it was originally painted as a novelty device akin to a Wacky Packages sticker or a Whoopie Cushion in its day. Such framed portraits were originally marketed as gag items. They were supposed to be fake windows. Mr Gioconda was quite the practical joker, you see. He hired daVinci to paint this image of his wife Mona, apparently looking into the house through this panel, which would look to his guests like a window. "Hey! There's your wife looking in through the window!" his guests would comment, at which point Mr. Gioconda would remove the framed painting from the wall; rotate it to show his guests it's flat, 2-dimensional reality; And enjoy a hearty laugh at their expense. Over time, however, this particular one-of-a-kind gag object has become deified, as no doubt Mr. Lynch's sketch card, which is offered here, will gain a similar form of respect from the intelligentsia over time.
