Hey guys!
Sorry it's been awhile since I've updated the info but it will be worth it.
Production is finished and the boxes will start shipping early next week.
It's been a long process and a lot of hard work up to this point and I want to thank everyone for their support throughout the entire endeavor.
I will be adding images of the uncut sheets to the site at the end of the week.

People have been asking me what the parody is for certain products. I assure you that all the title are made from existing products, some you may know and some you may not. That's exactly how it was when I was a kid, I didn't know what half the products were, I just loved the art and the jokes.

Thanks Jon, just got my order in. Again congrats on getting this done. An entire 30 card set of classic Wackys is a ton of work and from what I’ve seen so far, you’ve nailed it! Can’t wait to sit down with Josh and start crack’n packs and building a set.

Hello Everyone,
I received my Brand Busters order today and broke open a few boxes, and I'd love to share with you all the following:
It brought back a lot of nostalgia, Jon has done a remarkable job on this, you can tell it's a true labor of love, and he's
tried (and succeeded, 100 percent) in trying to capture the feeling that we all had in the 70's, opening our original packs.
I got a full set with my first box, and almost all of the puzzle pieces. There are three puzzles all together, and I especially
love the cardboard checklists, they are just like the real thing back in the day!
The titles are all great, and if any of you are worried that this is going to be similar to Dave's Old School sets, which are
awesome as well, don't hesitate and get yourself a few boxes of Jon's Brand Busters, they are a nice complement
all on their own.

This was FUN!! I wish I had ordered more boxes during the pre-sell. This is a very high quality set!
Out of my first box, I got one complete set and a second set missing 3 stickers. 23 different puzzle pieces yielded the orange puzzle -1, blue -1, green -2, with one extra green piece.
The second box also yielded a full set, and a second set missing 5 stickers. 24 different puzzle pieces yielded the orange puzzle -2, blue -1, and a complete green puzzle.
I was fortunate that between the two boxes I have all three complete puzzles. Unfortunately, I'm missing two stickers to complete a third base set. I'll post that in the trading thread.
I love the stickers!! The artwork is fantastic, and it's SOOO nice to have kiss cuts again! I may buy a few more boxes, just to enjoy killing some more packs and building sets the old fashioned way. And, I am definitely in for series 2!!

These have kiss cuts? How can this be? Topps seems to think it's impossible for Old School. Ordering a box right away!

I don't think Topps thinks it's impossible; it would just cut into their profit margin. I guarantee you if baseball cards had been kiss cut stickers all along, they'd be doing it if the sales dropped otherwise. It's just not worth their time for Wacky Packages since they sell so few. The weekly series print runs are averaging just below 800 at $15. They sold 99,177 of a single Ken Griffey, Jr. Topps Project 2020 baseball card at $19.99, even though it looks like my 7 year old grandson drew it.
Check out this link, there are 21 of them that sold more than 20,000.

Oh I know, I was just being a little facetious. :] I still hate that Old School left the kiss cuts behind. On a positive note, these look like very high quality stickers and my order number was over 1000! Guess this set is going to do fine.
P.S. Wth is that Ken Griffey Jr. card you posted the link to? That is a truly astonishing in how bad it is.

This set is GREAT. Great art, great gags, real stickers, kiss-cuts, packs, boxes, and.... I didn't pay $500 to NOT get every card. How refreshing!
I had a blast opening the packs and assembling sets. Jon really hit a homerun with this set. I can't recommend it highly enough.

Unbelievable. These things have zero eye appeal to me. Not even a little. Having cash to burn doesn’t even explain it, because there are soooooo many better things to burn cash on than this. Drawing cartoon images of players as they appeared on their early cards? In many such cases I’m sure you could get a decent grade example of the vintage card itself at less than the $19.99 they’re asking for these “creations.”

I've noted that as well. Someone needs to invent a randomizer machine that work on boxes, packs, cards in packs, etc.! And make sure Topps buys several of them!

Yeah, there's about 5 or 6 titles that seem to be short-printed, which makes it hard to trade.

Finally opened a box and was lucky to get a whole set with 3 packs left. Also got a complete Bang puzzle. :great:
It was great opening the packs and the anticipation building as I neared the complete set. Didn't know if I would get all 30 and as I got near the last of the packs I was getting anxious.
Great artwork and gags. The artwork is nice and big with minimal white space around the art unlike the last Old School set. Nice to have kiss cuts. I will actually be peeling and sticking some of my dupes. They are that good. Congratulations on a fantastic set. Hope there are more to come!
*Edit* after opening the last 3 packs I completed the Big Squeal puzzle. :great:

I like this set 100% more than the last Old School set. We'll see how the new Old School set goes. I mean half the price (!), box, wrappers, kiss-cut stickers, great art (and a good size on the art) and great gags. Topps really needs to step up their game.
P.S. What are the original products for Battle bar and Tax beer? Is there a list somewhere of all the original products that the spoofs are based on?

I can answer one of those. Battle bar is based on the Baffle bar from the Cardinet Candy Company (which at one time was part of Ralston-Purina)

Although Cardinet is no longer around, they also produced the popular U-NO bar, which survives to this day though now produced by the Annabelle Candy Company, makers of Abba-Zaba, Rocky Road, Look and Big Hunk bars. Annabelle's products are more widely distributed on the West Coast, but do make their way all around the country in candy specialty shops.

I had so much fun that I bought a few more boxes. It is definitely nice to be able to do that! I know I did that with the early Old School sets.
I'm expecting that Topps will have the image sizes corrected for Old School 9; they have certainly gotten that right on the weekly series.

Not sure how many of you have traversed historic Route-66 in Arizona, but if you like old CANDY memorabilia... this place had an insane amount of vintage candy boxes, shipping cases, etc. I haven't been there in probably 8 years or so. But it's a cool place to stop into. The guy wouldn't sell any, but it's fun to see. Not sure if it's all still there. But the website's still up...

...and while you're out in that area, JEROME is a cool town to visit. This Gold Mine has hundreds of old rusty cars, countless wooden shacks, and more vintage metal advertising signs than I could count. Unfortunately, the cool old dude that owned & ran it for decades passed away a couple years ago (talking to that guy was half the fun of the place). But it's another one of those off-the-beaten-track kind of places to visit while everyone else is crowding the trails in the Grand Canyon gettin' covid all over themselves...

I didn't give these a second thought since I have been spending so much on the weekly series, but I became interested when a forum member put one of these stickers on the back of the envelope sent to me in a trade. Kind of hooked now...
I would basically just like the set and the 3 completed puzzles. Would one box be enough with the amount of potential trading on the forum or would you purchase 2 (or more)?

It looks like there are a few stickers that are short printed - or short distributed since each one appears once on the uncut sheets. So some have gotten a complete sticker set from one box but many have not. Since there are 24 packs and 27 different puzzle pieces, you can't get a complete set of all three puzzles from one box. You might be able to trade extra stickers for your missing puzzle pieces. That just depends.

I had almost forgotten about listing fees, and "free listing days" from way back. And you didn't have to pay a final value fee on shipping. Ebay hasn't sent me a special offer like 3 listings with a maximum final value fee in over a year :sad:

Surprised to hear that a rookie card would have been short-printed as far back as 1981, as I don’t remember the irrational pursuit of rookie cards taking hold that early on. In any case, they guessed wrong with Leon Durham, as his career never reached HOF levels.

Sold my two extra sets for $40 each. But, as Marc noted, there's no real downside to asking for $175. Somebody might pay it!

$40 only works if you get really good collation. Some boxes don't have a full sticker set, and some boxes don't have a complete puzzle. I got one box that had neither :o And, it had a damaged box topper card.

They couldn't search for a particular card in a rack pack unless they knew at the time how Topps collated them, so I doubt that especially because Leon Durham was a nobody at the time. It must have been a collation error by Topps but remember i had to pay $1 a piece for them a few years later at the local show to finally complete my sets.
Topps has some double printed cards back in the early 80's" 1980 and 1981 from what I remember. Some were stars too. I remember I had a bunch of 1980 Carl Yastrzemskis

Hi all, opened my Brand Busters box this week... so much fun in this set, I really really loved it.
My collation was pretty dismal, but whaddya gonna do?
The good news is, I certainly had multiples of some stickers, so I went about and stuck 'em inside one of my file cabinet doors... :-)

Brand Busters were produced last year by Jon Gregory. They are an old school style set, with individual packs of 3 stickers and a cardboard checklist with a puzzle piece on the other side. 30 sticker titles (kiss-cut!!) and three 9 piece puzzles, plus 2 box topper glitter cards. I know it sounds like some did get a complete set or puzzle when buying a full box of 72 stickers for $79, but did anyone try buying the sheet and cutting them up yourselves? That prolly wouldn’t yield great results for me, and opening packs is half the fun, i y just wondering if anybody had bought the uncut sheet….

I bought the uncut sheet as I was missing one card. Then a kind forum member sent me the missing card for free after seeing my post so I left the sheet alone.
