Mars was a regular neighbor in the night sky until July, when it drifted further into the sun’s glare and “disappeared” from our sky. In September, Mars is behind the sun and this bizarre event is known as solar conjunction.
If I were a Martian, I would think that's the perfect time to attack. If Jack Horkheimer were still alive, I'm sure he could tell us.

Hey Neil! Can’t wait to get this set. Could you answer a few questions?
1. Is there a checklist in every pack?, is it ramdom?, does it take the place of one of the cards?
2. If you order 3 packs do you get a full set?
3. Are the parallel cards just the MA version of the WP Red Ludlow back (ps very cool touch!)
4. Is there a wrapper for these cards? Or are they just packed in a clear cello pack?

my guess is the checklist is on the back of the Gadzooka Attacky Packages title card (and possibly one per pack)
but as neither of those items are listed, just pictured, Topps still has some serious explaining to do

I hope 3 packs gets us a complete set! I ordered only 3. I have a $5 rewards that I can't use on it, so I'm a little bummed out! Does the rewards only work on their old crap?! I tried it on a Star Wars set not too long ago and the rewards code didn't work either! It says "$5 off your next order"

Sorry folks! I don't know much about the sales arrangement, but as some of you mentioned, it would seem that it takes 3 sets to get all 15 cards. It would also make sense that a checklist appears in each set, but I'd need to touch base with Topps to confirm that. There is no wrapper for the set.
By the way, there's a few items that I don't see shown in the promotion, so maybe they're saving these as a surprise? Don't know yet, but I'll try to find out soon...

I definitely enjoy Martian madness! Sometimes I even watch My Favorite Martian at 4am :]
The thing with these limited sales is that if you really like what they send you and want extras, or if you don't end up with one of everything, you can't order any more. That's why I keep saying they should give lots of details. Needless to say, I'm ordering and looking forward to the cards!

Count me in for trades. I’ve ordered 10 sets with the hopes of getting as many different variant backs as I can and trade for the rest. If the packs are divided well, I should get 3 full sets of the regular set. More than happy to use those to trade or help others complete their sets.

Thanks for what info you have shared with us, Neil, and for anything else you can find out. I'm debating between three and four "packs" as I want to get the whole set (and hoping three packs will do it, but buying an extra one to help out if three isn't enough). I do wish there was a wrapper as I'd be happy to have an unopened pack for my pack collection, but I guess it's a moot point on that count.

Great to see the spirit of 'trading' back in Wackys. I hope there aren't too many alt-backs or weird borders, etc. I'm in for trading, too, though. Not sure when they'll arrive with free shipping, though.

I believe this happened in the past few months. Certain states are demanding to get their fair share of sales tax revenue from online sales. In addition to Topps, I've had to pay sales tax on all of my recent Amazon orders. Seems they'll get you any which way they can.

I BELIEVE...do not quote me - As in the case of Amazon, IF it ships from YOUR STATE, and they are greedy whores who spend like drunken sailors, they will charge you sales tax.

I've been paying tax on Topps orders since the beginning of online orders because they have a physical presence in New York (they even charged tax on ebay Topps Vault auctions), and Amazon has sometimes charged me, depending on the seller. As of this year, Ebay and Amazon charge tax on everything, and I have to say, it is causing me to buy/bid less. The sales tax on shipping really makes me mad!!

If you live in the same state as Topps, they will charge tax. Of course, that is all supposed to be changing to where all internet sales are supposed to be taxable. I've yet to see it personally and if it never happens all the better. To me, no tax and free shipping are two of the best reasons to buy online.

Just got my Three packs and the art is Neilrific!
Now the down side- If you pay for a three pack you would assume TOPPS will get a complete set. Not the case.

That ploy only works if you can buy more, but you can't. Even if they had completely collated their packs and you ordered three, you might have gotten the same three.
Since there are 15 ludlow cards, I wonder if there are 15 different pack configurations. Did anyone write down the contents of each pack?

I was confused earlier! I thought people who ordered 10+ packs didn't get a complete set of the 15 basic cards. You guys are talking about the Ludlow variants, correct? I can't imagine buying that many packs and not getting the combination of 3 packs of 5 cards without getting a basic set of 15.

1 ludlow "attacky-back" per pack, along with 5 base cards. The first 9 base card backs make up a puzzle (a new piece of art), card 10 has a checklist back, card 11 has a pic of the puzzle art, and the last 4 have coupon backs. All in all, very well done. But, once again, if you put your stickers in pages, you'll have to put 1-9 in the wrong numerical in order to have the puzzle line up on the reverse of the page. I don't understand - sometimes they seem to plan for it, and sometimes they don't. :-\

Regarding collation - there does not appear to have been any attempt in that area. This is not like some other times where there were 2 or 3 groups that repeated; these packs looked completely random. And, with the buying window long closed, I expect there to be a LOT of trading here!!!

All these cards are all done a digital press which means they could have easily made complete sets available unlike if it had been printed in a large offset press- like they do with bigger set collections. Topps really makes it tough to deal with if they do these shenanigans.

The mistake on this set is on me. When we launched the 2019 set, it was the first use of a checklist , so I figured it should be called "Series 1". But because of the previous set, Topps was correctly calling the 2019 set "Series 2". Hence the mixup.
In any event, the 2020 set has been corrected to "Series 3". The website should be updated today.

So I just went to order four packs and pay with paypal. However, Topps wouldn't let me pay from my paypal balance. It was only giving me credit card and bank withdrawl options. Anyone else have this issue?

I let Topps know and they're checking into the issue. I'd recommend trying again tomorrow afternoon.

I got the opposite transaction - paypal took the payment from my cash balance instead of my paypal credit card! I was going to use my cash balance to pay on something else!

I read the info on the page rather quickly because I was so excited about ordering this set, but I THINK it said that emails would be sent when the orders go out with a tracking number. Just to make sure, I went to my account page, and the order was listed, waiting to be processed, so I guess it's just a new procedure by Topps. Now I just hope it doesn't take four weeks to process!

Quite a different arrangement to the card packing this time.
Excellent that a full set can be bought in one pack!
And there’s a header card!
Standard ludlow backs, but now all of them have coupons.
Plus four glow in the dark cards.
And super bonus of the sketch art boxes. Very tough odds, but awesome for whoever is lucky enough to get one!

I hope to be able to buy a base set from one of you guys here. Need to trim the collecting fat here and there. Already spending money on just one of the weekly wackies and will no doubt just buy a base set of Old School when those are released. My main collecting habits are Star Wars toys and books, and that is bleeding me dry at the moment. But I'm selling off things now, letting go of some of my toys.
It's truly a relaxing breath of fresh air when I can let go of certain collecting habits and not be a completist. Just the essentials are good enough for me right now. I feel bad for you WP fans who need to have every chase card.
