so I'm looking at my order closer, and even though the website said $19.99, it was still $24.99 in the invoice.
but - 5 sets bundles really did purchase through at just +$30.00. So I got a 5 set bundle for $55 or just $11 a set!
That's Buyer's Club territory! Wish I'd seen that earlier. I'll see if there's interest in the Buyer's Club thread.
Or even if someone was thinking of buying 2 sets, they should buy the 5 sets for just a few dollars more.

If they try to change it after the fact, I'll cancel my order for the extras.
They don't seem to work on weekends, so they might have a big problem come Monday morning. Perhaps a large number of orders at the lower price will show them that they could sell more cards if they don't mix Wackys with GPKs, and don't charge so much per card. I doubt it, but I am Wacky enough to hope :P

On a related note, it's great to see so many people picking up sets. I try to avoid shameless plugs, but the bottom line is this: Every set that sells, improves our chances of getting more releases like this. So, if you like 'em, please buy a set or at least, share the link - ACK, ACK! (that's martian for "THANKS")!

Hopefully Topps will realize that we are happy about this set because the art rocks, and we aren't being forced to buy GPK cards. I passed on several really cool Wacky cards after I decided to no longer buy mixed sets.

Any particular reason for the change in the tagline for Bot Wheels from "Self-Destructive" to "Self-Destructing?" I understand the addition of "Bots" to use the space that had been the Mars Attacks logo on the sketch card, but am just curious about this change, and what might have changed on others.

Actually it's just a change in the context. I thought "Self-Destructing" sounded more appropriate as it seems like they're so poorly made, they would self-destruct. "Self-destructive" sounds like they are intentionally inflicting harm upon themselves. I suppose either of them works, but one seems to fit better...

Doesn't mean much. They've been lumping all the print on demand Wackys under the GPK banner since they started in 2016. Even the Old School 6 set.

They did get the 2018 movies items in the correct space. You’d think at they very least they would show the Attacky set it both places.

Hopefully they won't be able to increase the charge to my Paypal account. I ended up paying $60 for 5 sets, which I was glad to do, but $135 is WAY more than I'd have spent.

I don't think that's fair. A mistake was apparently made, that's all. I thought it was a genuine offer (after all, they only charged $5 for the original Attacky Packages set), to get us to buy more sets and increase the print run. As I've said, I would have purchased one, possibly two sets at $25. I bought extras because of the lower prices, and I'll be bringing some to work to see if I can entice others who like sci-fi to get interested in possible future sets.

It was obviously incorrect [likely some leftover code, referring to 7 cards for $19.99], so assuming someone should have proofed the page before it went live...and it got past them...just sloppy work.

Don't know why you're so upset with my post, I just didn't think an employee making a mistake qualifies as the idiots you called them. If it makes you feel better, it's possible that someone lost their job.
I bought Old School 6 and am happy with my purchase.

If their intent was to not offer a bulk deal, which seems to be the case now, then careless certainly applies. We have had some whoppers slip through at work, like ordering a thousand 3-part forms that had items 1, 2, 2, 3, 4 on the list. We used them all, but that poor secretary got teased for a year.

I think when you post something on-line ; you need to also be prepared to say the same thing to someone's face. If Topps comes to the next Philly show and has a table; I highly doubt Hustler will walk up to the table and say "You guys are a bunch of ****** Idiots!" I know the comment was meant to be funny as well as make a point; but keep in mind this is a public board and if I worked for Topps and made that mistake; reading that comment would hurt. My two cents. Andrew

I don't mind the $24.99 price. This set is worth every penny to me, and a bargain considering how much Topps asks for single cards. I'm a huge Star Wars card collector, but I refuse to pay $9.99 each day for that Countdown to Solo online set.

True, it’s a very good price. Consider that the previous Rock n Roll Hall of Lame set was just 5 pieces for $29.99. Sure, there’s 2 copies of each, but still.

That bothers me, too. If sales are low because of no advertising, they'll think it was lack of interest. Fortunately, Neil posted about it on the Mars Attacks facebook page for people who bought the Kickstarter set, and that should help.

My package was supposedly out for delivery with USPS at 8:43 this morning, but never showed up. Tracking now says it had an incorrect address, and is being returned to Florida. AAAAARRRRRRGGGGGHHHHH!

I checked my invoices, and my street number is missing - that's why I think it might have been an autofill error on my part. I've emailed Topps. Please cross your fingers for me!!
What bugs me most is that there maybe a dozen houses on my street, and I'm in the phone book. No one in the PO, including the carrier whose truck it ended up on, could check?

Jim is right. Maybe a few decades ago, a mail carrier would have taken the few extra steps to ensure that this package was delivered, but that doesn't seem to be the attitude today. Also, I don't know about your town, but in mine (which is rather small) it seems that we have different mail carriers every other day. (For the life of me, I don't know why. Is there that much of a turnover rate?) This is unlike the good old days when you had one carrier who was so familiar with his or her route that they could make a delivery based upon just your initials if everything else was washed off by rain.
Growing up, we had the same mail carrier for years and years. If my friends and I were in another part of town and simply contemplating boyish mischief, Mr. Gekko (the mailman) would tell us to think again, for he knew everything about us - our names, addresses, parents' first names, our pets' names, and even the make and color of our bicycles. True, for we would question him on this kind of stuff. (He probably knew more than the local police.) Yet, despite his admonitions he was a good guy and always made sure he delivered our cereal and Bazooka Joe comics premiums.

I think that I finally found it! It's "Mars Attacks Occupation Wacky Promo!" on General Wacky Packages Discussion. Unfortunately, the older pictures are gone on my computer. But if anyone wants to see where Neil's artwork possibly came from, I think that it's in there.

Realistically, the best way to make another set is to write your favorite Topps editor and tell them you want to see more Attacky Packages. And I agree, there's plenty of really great ideas still to be made!

And on that note while you’re writing them...ask for a Mars Attacks Old School Set to be made. Get back to the darker pulpy art. This is why the original set stands alone. New sets have been too comical and have been taken in the wrong direct art-wise.

Topps already did this three times - Mars Attacks Archives in 1994, the Mars Attacks Screamin' model kit cards in 1995 (which, I think, were meant to be connected with Archives, since they used the same story line that was being used at the time) and Mars Attacks Heritage in 2012, the 50th anniversary year of the series. In the cases of Archives and Heritage they even added in 21 deleted cards from back then that didn't make the final cut - 11 in Archives and 10 in Heritage, for a grand total of 85 cards in all, including the nine model kit cards (in the case of the 21 deleted cards in Archives and Heritage, however, I think that if Topps had put all of those cards in with the Classic 55 and made it the Classic 76, those concerned parents and teachers wouldn't have been satisfied with just pulling the Mars Attacks cards off of the shelves, they'd have wanted each and every one of them completely and totally destroyed - and they would not rest until it was done).
And Mars Attacks: The Revenge! actually picked up Mars Attacks: The Original Version (as I call it) in 2017, the 55th anniversary of the series, five years after the first story ended (the two stories took place in 1962 and 1967, respectively) and it was great! I didn't see anything comical about that series. In fact, one part that I liked about it is that we finally found out what happened to that captured Martian soldier from card 25 of the Classic 55! In fact, I don't even think that, back in 1962, Topps even conceived that the story would ever be continued beyond Mars' destruction (however, whether or not they'll actually make a third series, 60th anniversary in 2022 or otherwise, remains to be seen...although I wouldn't mind if they stopped it right now, depending on how the second series actually did in the end - in other words, we make up the third act (by the way, was the second series a success or not? Please let me know)).
Now, if Topps would just tell us if they're ever going to continue Mars Attacks: The Second Version (i.e., Mars Attacks: Invasion (2013) and Mars Attacks: Occupation (2016)) beyond that point and maybe even finish it off...

The problem with the re releases is that the small subsets were the best part. The main sets weren’t that great. I have all the MA sets and took part in the MA Kickstarter set. All I’m saying is that the set needs to be simplified and go back to basics. The art in the MA Revenge Set was better it still wasn’t great and still lacked the classic feel. How they released the set as a boxed set was dumb. Also the set had way too many border variations and the pencil set shouldn’t have been repeated in all border colours. It should have just been a subset. They could even just release it as a online set similar to what’s being done with the WP Old School sets. Simple classic sets with some variations and the ability to complete the entire set. Forget all the medallion and patch chase cards. It should all be about the art and the history of the set. Darker colours and a nostalgic feel to it.

I have put this idea out there in the past - They should release the original series 1-16, expect all re-done in the WP / MA theme!
I am in for a COMPLETE set with puzzle / checklists - who needs a mortgage payment..... MAKE IT HAPPEN!

They're all new. Most are based on sketch cards originally drawn over the last few years.
