Title: ROB's Items for sale
Post by: Dr Popper on February 10, 2012, 11:52:25 AM

Hi, since I don't collect uncut sheets I would like to sell my series 1 Cereal Killers sheet.  I think these went to the first 50 buyers of cases, and there were 100 released.  It has Joe Simko's signature on it and it's #13/100.  I would ship it in a tube and would like $20.00 + shipping, which I estimate to be 7-8 bucks.  Here are the pics............

Hi, I am close to completing my Old School 3 sketch set but I need to swap the J. Zapata Slam Jim with one of the titles listed below.  I am trying to get one per artist with no duplicate titles.  I posted the Zapata I want to swap as well as a few others I would swap.

I would like a Zapata with one of the following titles.................

- Grim
- Moron Gard
- Bat
- Mr Babble
- Hipton
- Kentucky Fried
- Hawaiian Punks
- Play Dumb

Here is what I have for a trade.............

Were you setting out to do 2 complete sets, or did you have a bunch of extra golds from building your first set that you decided to complete the 2nd? Seems like 1 set would be hard, but 2 would be unbelievably hard. Basically, you have 2 of an only possible 40 sets. Considering many people may get a gold & not realize what they have & discard, stick, trade or throw it in a drawer, completing a set is much tougher than the odds of pulling 72 golds from packs.

Actually I bought a 71-card set (missing Battlecaps) pretty cheap over a year ago (cheap being relative of course!).  It was part of deal to get another card I needed, and I rolled the dice that another Battlecaps would surface.

That would be a cool thing to see a scan of the whole flashback gold set, if possible, since most people will never see one.

I'll be glad to send you a nice scan of it, but wouldn't you rather just buy the whole set!  haha  Do you want the scan so you can cut it into a card?  If so I won't use the black background I usually use.

Ok, ok, I think the Robs have it. That is an appropriate avatar. I'm going to sleep on it to see if an original series character comes to mind, and if not Taco Bill it is. Thanks guys.

OK Rob, Rob, I narrowed it down to 3 original series options or Taco Bill. I picked:
1. Kook because I like the character, and I think a smoking penguin would make a cool avatar (especially animated),
2. Dr. Ono for the same 2 reasons, and
3. Grime (heavy) because I remember the 7th series the best as a kid & I also think the dropping dog food would make a cool avatar.

Taco Bill works obviously because of the name (good call Rob) and the animation potential as well.

What are your thoughts on these? (or anyone else who cares to chime in)

The Kook penguin is a great character for an avatar. If you made it with motion, the cigarette(s) could have a puff of smoke. Or Kook could toss the cigarette in his left fin into the air, end over end, and catch it, like Johnny Carson used to do with his pencil during The Tonight Show, lol

Dr Ono the Crackpot Brain Opener would also make a good avatar. One thing - the full scene has two characters and they would be small in an avatar unless you used only one – the doctor might look cool by himself, maybe with his head nodding a bit or his eye-balls rolling around (maybe one eye-ball rolling?). The Grime dog with the food dropping would be cool, but I think it might be tough to make an image with the dog’s expression before the food lands on its head.

From your list, I like Kook and Taco Bill best. If you want more ideas and feedback, you could write up your avatar concepts and create a thread with a poll. But maybe that is going overboard, something I often do  :D

Thanks! I didn't notice them before either. My next step is to figure out how to get the background transparent.

I did this pretty fast to see how to do it. You have to save it as a Gif to keep the transparency. I did lose some of the smoke but wanted to try.

I could make it better. I just wanted to see how it would look transparent. I won't be able to do anything for awhile. I have to travel on biz.

I agree. I think it should stand out more too. The smoke may have to be reworked a bit in addition to the animation. One step at a time. It only took me 3 years to pic an avatar (with a little frindly nudge).

And you really need two of these sets in your collection like I have. One in near mint "un-perffed" and one perffed so you can enjoy mixing the pics up. So grab this set! NOW!!!  ( how'd I do boss?). In all seriousness, this is a tough set to put together in near mint because almost any unopened packs will have gum stains on some cards. It is a cool set.

It's gettin' hitched? Thanks wonderful news. Is the groom a nice Mr. Foney's Funnies set? A Bally-hoo card deck? I hope it's not that handfull of PsychoParody prismatic vending machine stickers that are always hanging out under the I-70 overpass. That's some bad satire.

That is a great deal even with hux777's high shipping. I paid about $100 for my nm set a couple of years ago. As someone else mentioned, it's a set to have 2 copies of - 1 nm keeper, and 1 set to fold as it was meant to be folded. The cards with any gum residue would be perfect for the "foldee" set. That's a really nice display box too.

It is shipping from the UK so it probably runs quite a bit. I'll probably have to wait 3 weeks to get it.

I don't think so. There doesn't appear to be anywhere near the demand for unopened packs for this series as there are for Wacky Packages. Just be warned that if opening packs this old, you will probably have gum staining on one or two cards per pack.

I don't think so either. You could easily keep the wrappers in folded form & put them back in the box. For display purposes it will look just like a full box. I don't think these are super rare, or that highly in demand. I would vote to enjoy them over socking them away. Worst case scenario, you'd get your money back by just selling a complete set pulled from the box & still have the box & wrappers for display along with all the dupes. Throwing it in the closet for 10 years won't be anything to retire on or put your kids thru college on, so ENJOY! Maybe save the nicest unopened pack for your collection.

Have you typically found high grade items in the killed packs? Seems like unopened material is worth a lot more than the sum of its parts unless you are able to get some great scores. In finding really nice stuff, I have not been so lucky with the handful of packs I've opened, so I tend to leave them as is.

Hi all, I have one of my more unique pieces in my collection going up for sale.  Some of you remember from Greg's forum back in 2010, Jay Lynch did sketch characters in the blank portion of the first page (I think) for collectors in the Abrams 1st edition Wacky book.  He provided a template of characters to choose from, and there were 25 total.  Well, I took it a step further, and had him do one of EACH character, but instead of keeping them in the books like others did, I had the pages removed from the 25 books, so I have a collection of all 25 sketches in sheet form, so they can easily be displayed in a binder book.

Here is the template, and scans of the sketches to follow............

I will also mention that the vertical lines that show up on the scans are not on the actual pages, they are from the scanner.

So if anyone is interested in these, please PM me.  I want to keep these as one lot so I won't be breaking them up individually.  I haven't really decided on the price yet, but I had to buy the 25 books @ $17.50 each plus if my recollection is right Jay was doing the sketches for between $15 - $20.00 each, so I believe I have close to $900.00 invested in them.

If no one is interested here I will throw them on Feebay to see what happens, but I'll leave them here first for a couple days.

I have six sets of these Halloween style beer parody label stickers, 8 labels total per set.  These are from two separate companies who made the sets of 4 labels.  The 2nd set of 4 labels are supposed to glow, but I haven't tested how well they work yet.

I'll sell them for $5.00/set of 8, plus $1.65 postage, so $6.65 total, and I have 6 sets total to sell!  If anyone wants a set please send me a "personal" paypal to rkpprinting@sbcglobal.net , and please include your mailing address!

Hi all,

I've decided to try to sell my ANS11 boxes.  I have 20 Collector boxes available that I've already received, plus I have 10 Retail boxes expected on Monday.  Here is the pricing...........

COLLECTOR
(12) or more boxes @ $53.50 (+ postage)
(6) or more boxes @ $55.50 (+ postage)
Single boxes @ $57.50 each (+ postage)

RETAIL
$25.00 / box (+ postage)

The postage will be at cost, and shouldn't be too bad since the boxes are fairly small.  If anyone is interested please PM me what you want with your address and I'll get you a postage estimate.  Also note that my preference is to avoid several single box orders if possible, so larger orders will go before single box orders.

Thanks! Rob
