Post here if you are like me: unable to attend the 2011 Philly Show but would like to purchase a Postcard Promo Card and WP3 Promo Card from someone who goes and is able to obtain at least one extra.
I would purchase two or three of each (because I like them!) if they are obtainable, but am happy to buy at least one of each from someone who is able to pick up the extras for me. PM me or post a reply here.
Please post here if you also want to be on "the list" -- I am posting a reference to this thread in the "Who is going to the Philly Show" thread now.
And one of these days I am going to get to the show and hopefully meet many of you. Until then...

He said that they are allowing each attendee to pick up a second set of promos with each admission to the show. So, any Wacky fans that can get that extra set, I'm more than happy to buy or trade for your extra Wacky promos. Thanks!

Are we sure they are going to hand out the Olds3 Promo and the PC Promo with EACH paid admission or will it be random?? Maybe they will also hand them out at the Topps Vault Table??
In the past they have allowed us to purchase extra packages for the price of admission, and it was usually 3 extras plus the initial admission package, so you could walk out with 4 packages. Sounds like it will be 2 this time.

I could not find a single list there -- in the 10 pages (!) of posts... Thus my idea of putting the requestors -- and now the attendees too -- in one place. Wow. A LOT of responses. Hopefully enough people will go and can bring back enough -- and will want to sell/trade to everyone listed.
So here's the list of people wanting at least one of each card, which I will update as more people reply (I just put them in the order of posting for sanity's sake) -- I will then follow this list with those who are planning on going to the show:

How did you fraw the conclusion I am attending the show? Can you paste the requests from the other thread to here in case people who posted there don't see this new thread? For the record, I am NOT attending the show and from what I could see, a far larger number of people have said they are attending the show that aren't on your list.

There was another thread that had "requests" for the promo card but I didn't dig through that yet as it wasn't in the Philly show thread.
Might be a good idea to keep the "who is going to the philly show thread" for its stated purpose and keep this thread as the requestor thread so we don't all go insane chasing multiple threads.
All this while I can't make the show but at least I can help keep the data organized :great:

My understanding is that each attendee could pay for two admissions and therefore get two sets of promos. I believe each person will get a "package" of promos at the door with their ticket and this "package" will contain both wacky promos plus whatever other promos are handed out. As far as I know, there is no Topps Vault table at the show, but I could be wrong about that.

I have a suggestion that I think is good, For those that are attending the show, Each one of us pick 1 member from the list posted that we want to pick up the cards for. I have chosen Ruffs as the member that I'm getting the cards for, LMK what you think of my idea.

I like your idea a lot! That's exactly what I was hoping attendees were going to do (in fact, that was the original intention behind me trying to list the attendees here -- trying to get the two together!)
Along similar lines, I just posted a thread regarding a Postcard Announcement Buddy System (http://www.wackypackagesforum.com/index.php?topic=1643.msg36008#msg36008) I came up with after the last Postcard series release, but forgot to post. Thought I better get on it!

Yeah - it probably won't work out, but I'm glad that someone is making the attempt. I appreciate the optimism and thoughtful consideration.

Most likely that is going to be the case. My main motivation for the list was to get a concrete idea of the ratio of the two.
People who are going can pick people from the list they want to contact and set things up that way -- whatever works for each. We won't really know until after the show and the dust settles.
Who knows, maybe some Topps Elves will find a way to sprinkle some extras around somehow. ;)

Yeah that does seem to be the concern, Looking at the amount of collectors that want the Wacky promos & other cards (Which is around 25) Compared to the people who can attend the show (Which the last yr or 2 has
only been about 15 or 20) may not pan out too well, But I believe that each member that is on this list will get the cards.

Having talked to Roxanne Toser about this the bonus cards are a way to encourage people to go to the shows. I know it's not possible for everyone to go but the bottomline is that if the bonus/promo cards were made available without going to the show attendance who likely go down. There's been a couple shows that I've been on the fence about and I went knowing there were going to be exclusive Wacky cards there.

I know it's not possible for everyone to go but the bottomline is that if the bonus/promo cards were made available without going to the show attendance who likely go down. There's been a couple shows that I've been on the fence about and I went knowing there were going to be exclusive Wacky cards there.
Wow, I really hope that is not true. If the only motivation for people to go is the promo cards then seriously IMO that is pretty sad. When I did get to attend the show a few years ago it was to meet forum folks and those in the hobby, hang and trade with them, have a good time and hopefully find some cool finds at the vendor tables. Which I did manage to do all of those things, but the bonus things given during admission was just that, a bonus and not a motivator for me to attend. As a matter of fact, I had completely forgot about those items when I attended until I was actually in line paying. A few of those made available to some REAL collectors like us forum members who cannot attend I would think would not be such a ludicrous request.

I, too, highly think this won't happen but if there is a chance someone stays late while they are shutting the show down and gets a butt load of promos. Please help out. You will be well rewarded.

Still, I would think as long as people are willing to buy 'em, why not make them available to all? If the cost was the same or more than the show's admission fee, then there would be incentive to go that route, but for those for whom the trip is impossible (I'm some 1500+ miles away) it doesn't seem unreasonable to want to buy them.

Thanks guys. It was a couple months ago. We still have some hurdles to cross before she can move to CT so we can live together, but at least we are committed to make it happen. We've been seeing each other for 7 years now!

We probably would have done it sooner but she has kids that live with her on Long Island and have visitations with her X, and I have kids and live in CT. Working through the logistics isn't easy!

2. eBay is flooded with these so the price goes down.

Mike indicated that the comics would be available at the online store after the show (next week, if I understood correctly). And the Old School 3 promo says "Non Sports Update" on the reverse, so I'm thinking it will be in the next issue. But, that postcard was a show promo, and they were really being strict about those. They wouldn't even sell me an admission for tomorrow, and I'm pretty sure they did that for people last time I was there, and you just got the wristbands for both days at once. I tried to get a few people to part with their postcard promos this afternoon, to help out forum friends, but had no luck :'(
