the * is a wild card, so any letter or combination of letters from that character onwards will all show up in a search.
if you search with "wacky", you will only find wacky
but if you search with "wack*", you will find
wacky
wackie
wackypack
wackey
etc., etc.

Good info.!!! I tried it for the first time today and see why you also need to add the -bandz thing. Eraser craze? - Definately a rubber band craze.

I know, those darn bands have been mixing in with my searches for several months now.  Hopefully the craze dies off soon!

Can someone please explain to me why one would bother sending this to PSA? Maybe so you know you are getting certified crap?

LOL, too funny but nonetheless, someone will buy this, will flip the sticker back around to stick it properly and somewhat loosely and will resell it....watch and see....

Is this a cloth sticker or something? Weird that it (apparently) has Mutts all over the back in a cloth-sticker-like fashion.

Someone's 1st series set must have been stacked tightly in a humid environment, so the diecut from Mutts left an image on Paul's back....

"Scarce High Number Series"...when it comes to unopened wax boxes, 14th series is certainly the most common (maybe tied for that honor with 10th series). Talk about intellectually dishonest and/or uninformed. I also like the use of the word "unsearched." It makes perfect sense for sports cards, but in this context makes no sense. What is there to search for??

reads like they are just applying baseball card buzzwords to a box of wackys, not knowing any better or else trying to fool someone. and does "unseached" mean something different than "unsearched"?

And I truly love how they guarantee the box is unopened, and then include a picture of the box opened up...

If there is an exact equal  number of all ad variations then I would believe it is a box filled with its true original contents.  Many full boxes in the market are pieced together.  To some there is no difference between a box filled with 48 packs and a box with its original 48 packs, to others there is a big difference.  I sold two 10th boxes with pupsi showing on at least one pack with perfect pack collation(add ads equally represented) to Hal Steinbrenner(yes the Yankee Steinbrenner).  Those boxes came from a sports card dealer whose place was stocked top to bottom with unopen boxes of 1970s stuff(mostly sports cards).  In the miscellaneous pile of single 10th packs that he had that I still own, I have a pack with Pupsi showing.  I guess I should kill that pack some day and get the Pupsi graded but there is something cool about keeping it in its pack so I haven't been tempted to kill it.

I can't believe it sold for $1400.  That is crazy.  I would guess its true value is around $850 - $900.  I hope he doesn't plan on selling it anytime soon, I doubt there is anyone else willing to pay that much for it.

To each his own, but it doesn't sound like a good buy to me. Let's say they are all PSA graded at 8 or better. Where is the market for 48 PSA graded 14th series packs? To be sold individually? Or do you mean cracking the packs and submitting the stickers to PSA? That's a tremendous crapshoot, they may all be warped for all we know. No matter how you slice it, even in the wacky heyday of the mid 2000's a 14th series box rarely sold for over $1000. This is way too high.

I would tend to agree but i'm sure he'll pull cards and send them in,,maybe keep a few packs as well
his PSA standing is quite high last time I looked and money is usually no object when it comes to taking a chance on finding possible prime pack fresh cards.

With wackys, I've had one really positive experience with opening packs to get high quality stickers. Most of the time, even if the packs look very high grade, there are issues from severe tanning to warping to dinged corners to poor centering. Paying a lot for unopened wacky material to harvest high grade cards is very risky, much more so than with sports cards, where opening a rack pack is an almost sure score of structurally super-nice cards.

But best of luck to him!

Maybe it's the two lost wacky's or the reverse negatives driving the price up...

Wow, that seems way overpriced.  It's not really "driving the price up" though because there aren't any bids.  Probably just someone who doesn't have a clue what they are worth.  Zero feedback too!
