date, series, scarcity to name a few... this is one of the most common wackys from the original series....  worth a dollar in NRMT IMHO
All his common WP singles are listed at $250 opening bid, even a borderless Mop & Glop.  I’d like to think no one would ever fall for it and this douche of a seller is just wasting his own time with these delusional listings, but who know, will have to look at his recently completed listings and see if anyone has fallen victim.

Mostly ‘private listings’ where you can’t see the details of what was sold or for how much.  No accident I’m sure. . . .

Let's hope someday we're not all kicking ourselves for not buying the $250 common 8th series stickers.  One of the most insanely priced things I've ever seen.  But then again... $20 common 16th series stickers and diecuts seemed insane once too.  heh.  Maybe he just saw the growing inflation numbers and was planning ahead for 2023...?

There is currently an unopened pack of 16th series on Fleabay for $300. Ripoff?

Do you just think anything that's expensive (from your perspective) is a ripoff? You need to consider the rarity, demand and supply, not just the price. Seems like we've been over this material before.

There are two other slabbed and graded 16th packs listed at $499 and $599. I wouldn't pay that much. I'm not sure I see much advantage to having packs professionally graded. Yes, the slabbing protects them, but it seems like a buzzkill.

Yes, I was just wondering. I realize how rare unopened OD packs are. Just wondering if its worth $300 for 3 stickers. Heres another item up right now….OS 1-15 collection, all titles, cannot tell condition, but seller is asking $3,600. Having an instant collection kind if takes all the fun out of it…

The advantage (assuming you trust the grader) is that the pack is legit, unlike most raw packs on eBay.

The Global 7.5 graded pack is from an era when that company was not reliable, so I would avoid that one.

Yes, there lies the rub. I've seen enough mistakes from PSA to be leery. If you think that GAI is knowledgeable enough to spot resealed packs, etc., that would add an extra layer of protection.

The original GAI was, and PSA certainly is.

Wow.

A borderless sticker slabbed and graded.    And a "VG-EX" label to boot.   Doesn't it cost more than this sticker sold for to even get it graded?   EX???   VG- at best in any universe.

Another head-spinner from PSA. And a $4.25 winning bid. Someone may have picked this one up just for giggles.

Another annoying thing about PSA is that for cards or stickers with a horizontal or "landscape" orientation, they are inconsistent as to whether the grading tag is on the left or the right.  Such a simple thing to fix, just issue a consistent policy for all your graders, but that apparently is not done.  Also, some items seem to have an extra layer of a thin cellophane around them inside the PSA case, and some don't.  What up with that?!

I'm certainly not a fan of grading or PSA, but I wonder what percentage of their slabbed cards have these kinds of glaring mistakes.  We are always quick to point out the ones that are real head-scratchers like this one, but there must be millions that are done correctly, or they couldn't stay in business.

I bought one of these with a yellow lid a while back for about half that much. Everyone has their limits, once in a while I’ll go a bit nuts if it’s something I really want.

The mere notion of Shedd’s PB being an avenue of Wacky commerce doesn’t do much for me, even at a low price.  Maybe I’d feel differently if I had acquired some childhood Wackys that way, but I’ve never even heard of Shedd’s or any PB out of a plastic tub for that matter.  I’d sooner go for a nice 1973 Skippy jar or other matching real product.  Of course a 1973-74 Wonderbread bag would check both boxes, assuming there is a splash ad on the graphics.

My only question would be if that lid is even the correct match? It is the wrong color and reads "CRUNCHY" and the bucket has no mention of crunchy.

I've never seen a bucket that distinguished between crunchy and smooth.  All of the ones I have are only on the lids.

I am with you, there is nothing nostalgic about these bins for me.  I collected the whole Shedd's set more for the challenge than anything else then sold it off.   This is why I dumped my wacky ads and the multiple complete diecut sets I have had over the years, nothing nostalgic about them at all for me so I can't rationalize locking up the money in those especially high priced sets.

This seller's other Wackys look much better (some still far from good). She applied the same description to all of them. Once again, this thread answers its own question.

The Big Baddy has little footprints in the border:

Since she runs an antiquities store, and is trying to sell each one for $17.95, I hope she didn't pay a lot for these.

There is a comic and rare book dealer on e-bay. He has some original paintings from a fairly popular pulp/comic artist. He has listed them time and again on e-vay, sometimes at around $1,000, sometimes twice that and sometimes in between. It is completely random. I e-mailed him once asking why the same painting went from $1,200 to $1,800…he replied “thats what i am asking at this time. You would be surprised. Sometimes they sell better at the higher price.” Which goes to show you the value of anything is….whatever someone is willing to pay for it.

The footprints indicate that this sticker was part of the Lost Wackys "Walky" Packages sub-set that were mysteriously uncovered last week...
