...but are there really people that delusional that would feel there is that kind of value on an item like that?
Yes. Not sure "delusional" is the right term. Maybe "ignorant" or "uninformed".

And apparently either not aware of how to look up comparable items/prices, or too lazy or preoccupied to do so.

I'm sorry I'm harsh, but there is only one word for this and that word is "STUPID" straight up and down! Anyone who thinks mouse piss stained and chewed on is worth anything is an "IDIOT".

That's why you see people making money selling courses on "How to sell on eBay."  I watched one of the infomercials for it many years ago, and it was 90% common sense (research the item, research previous sales) and 10% decent information like what abbreviations to use that will be recognized by the eBay buyers (MIB = mint in box, NWT = new with tags).

Seeing how dumb some of the sellers are, there are probably buyers who are just as stupid, so they wouldn't know what those abbreviations meant.  Of course those dummies are the ones who'd plunk down $25 for this sticker.  They're the same ones who really think the wife of Nelson Mandela needs to ship $18M in gold out of the country and will share it with them if they send her $500 to bribe the customs inspector.

I always wondered what the lowest score you can get submitting a card, comic, or magazine. I had no idea they went this low. :o :o :o

If I owned this one, I'd try to scrub off the decimal point, so I could get a 5.

I think one of the grading companies has a "verified" rating, which means it's an actual item, but it's either trimmed or damaged to the point where they won't place a numerical grade on it.

These two really have misleading subjects -- at least the photo doesn't match, and there's nothing in the description that helps

https://www.ebay.com/itm/325256623596
https://www.ebay.com/itm/325256644054

Thought it would be better to just quote myself with my later thoughts.

I think the description should say something like this:

Love Wacky Packages, but can't afford to buy them?  Or are you tired of Topps charging you immediately and taking months after your order to actually deliver them?  No problem! Just buy this and make your own!

Also the gum is intact with only one break in it.

I guess by intact, the seller means all the gum is still there?  I would say that the break does damage it, but apparently not?  So whoever opened it didn't want to take a small sample?

Ignoring the face that there's a full box of 1979 for $999 on eBay, making $200 ridiculous for a pack, for a moment:

Average Price for gasoline in 1979 was $.086
Price of a 1979 Wacky Pack was $0.20
Making the pack worth 23.25% of a gallon of gas at the time when the pack was box-fresh, Minty-Mint PSA10.

In CA, I'm paying around $6.50 per gallon (yah, sucks)
So, doing the math... that pack should go for about a buck-fifty ($1.50) at the most.
Well... unless the price of a VINTAGE gallon of gas saved in a canister from 1979 (preferably purchased at a Stuckey's) has gone up to $860...

If the zombies keep multiplying, I think I'd rather have the $860 can of gas than the $200 pack at this point.

He's exaggerating, its only 209.99

https://www.ebay.com/itm/394091274011?hash=item5bc1ab9f1b:g:sXMAAOSwuAxij57G

Did anyone else get an offer from the seller for $99.99?  I politely declined and let the seller know that it was really only worth about $5-6 unopened and even less now that it isn't - also that the gum didn't add any value, even if it had been unbroken.

My only guess is that the buyer did not read very well and might have thought these were unopened packs. ??

So there is a seller with two individual auctions each for one unopened pack. Asking price is $80. Light blue packs could be series 5,6,7, or 15…Are those packs worth $80?

John,
I am thinking like the concensus here that the guy is just selling the wrappers, All of us are scratching our heads saying that is not worth the price of admission

I don't know where to begin describing this one!  ;D

The seller tried to place an album sticker on a larger reprint sticker card, then listed the auction twice?

That's a low price for what that seller originally had it. I think it was $899.99. I tried to talk sense to them, but they are in their own world.

I guess there's appeal to 40 year old gum that doesn't have any kind of trading card?

Candy and gum collectors are serious buyers! If you think that is crazy, look at this finished auction for Bazooka Bits box with 20/24 packs. Granted, Bazooka Bits are extremely rare and may have even been a test issue, but...

Yikes!  Looking at the bid history, it was apparently 3 bidders that really wanted this item.

3 hours before auction end one of them decides to start running it up.  The day before the auction ended, the other guy ran it up.  The winner put his high bid in days before auction end.  Is the new stupid to run up auctions long before auction end instead of sniping?

It is people who don’t know anything about wackys. They see a PSA 10 vintage sticker sell for big bucks and don’t understand the difference. I have at times purchased a PSA 10 reissue for as little as $6.

Not to mention that this is not even the slightly harder to find "Italy" cereal premium. A 10 IMO would fetch around $20 at most.

That seller is classic for serious over-pricing.
