I  see another seller has 3 of the same boxes (admittedly in worse shape) for $165…..not sure why this seller is asking SO much….

Well, they have "Make Offer" on it, so perhaps they are just looking for offers?  Sometimes a listing like that can lead to an off-ebay deal at a considerably lower price.

Oh I made him two fair offers based on it being 60 count. He declined. I asked why so much. He ignored. 🤷‍♂️

Hahah. I am fine if he felt my price was unfair. I based it on other sales. At this point I’m still curious why he thinks it’s worth 10 times what it should be. Or it just might be one of those people who think 1991 - being over 30 years old and unopened wax makes it rare  :]

Is it just me or is this just a bit pricey?           https://www.ebay.com/itm/124861580570?hash=item1d1254851a:g:LWAAAOSwIUVhHuXJ

Given that it's a graded pack and who knows what sort of Best Offer he might accept, it seems not unreasonable to me...

I do think it is not an outrageous ask. As Marc said, the parameters are within tolerance.

What am I missing here?????

Check out this thread for discussion: http://www.wackypackagesforum.com/index.php?topic=6299.0

The general consensus is that they are very sharp cards, and may get PSA grades high enough to make them worth taking a chance on.

Yeah I guess, but the scan or pic of the backs looks like it has been whitewashed.  It is super white and there is a lot of glare.  I think the winner of this auction will be disappointed with the backs of these.

Every sticker this seller has is cropped;  I asked for a non cropped picture of Kook I am betting on a ignore on this one. Why do people waste others time?  https://www.ebay.com/itm/334127223399?hash=item4dcb88d267:g:ym0AAOSws8JhJ8s3

WTF?:
https://www.ebay.com/itm/122260880703?hash=item1c7750fd3f:g:zAQAAOSwx2dYHU~b

"Man, I'm in carbon freeze for a while, Chewie, and everyone starts getting delusions of grandure!"
(spelling and wording improvized)

Is this REALLY the kind of prices regular sets are fetching now?  Did the pandemic make everyone go nuts?

The answer to your first question is a definite no.  As to the second question, I'm not sure  :-\

I don’t think that is legitimate. I’ve never seen a cello fun pack without a puzzle piece showing.

Verified - all of mine have a puzzle piece showing, some with the checklist facing out, some with the puzzle piece facing out.

Not trying to open a can of worms, but have other collectors had problems with RonnieRocker? I have considered bidding on one or two of his items…

Good Ol' Ronnie Rocker never fails to impress with his "quality" wackys!!  I wouldn't stick this on the spokes of my Huffy as a 10 year old!

That one looks like it came out of the spokes of a Huffy.

Not sure if this is the same Ronnie Rocker who used to post here on this forum and Greg's forum or not.  That being said, I think most of the items he has listed are over-priced.  He does have a very nicely centered Choke Wagon for sale but I don't think it is worth $175.  But it does look like he has "Best Offer" option on most everything so maybe you can get a good deal?
Giving "The Hobby" the finger since 1999!

I remember that name in connection with a controversial character back in the days of Greg’s old forum, but can’t remember if he was a forum member, eBay seller or both.  Is he the same guy who always claimed to be terminally ill, at death’s door, etc?  Had long hair, was a metal head, looked a little like Nigel from Spinal Tap?

I suspect this IS the one & only Ronnie Rocker.  His profile says "Member since: Mar-06-00"

I believe his name was Ron - but a different person.

I judge each auction on its own merit (hopefully based on decent photos), but would prefer to do business with people who have earned a good reputation.

No, that was RonZombie. Ronnie Rocker came along about ten years earlier.

About 20 years ago, Ronnie was taking a steady beating on the Forum for selling overpriced items. Some of his current listings seem more in line than others. I would make full use of the Zoom In feature.

Ah yes, now I remember, thanks for that.  RonZombie was the one posting on the forum.  Ronnie Rocker was mentioned a lot, but I don’t remember any forum participation from him.  Must have been mostly eBay ludicrosity similar to the $10 Truant retrieved from a washing machine.

I had conflated those two as well, thanks for deconflating them!

And thanks to MoldRush for the detailed description of RonZombie. The Nigel/Spinal Tap reference really brought it home!

Ron Z is basically a good guy. Unfortunately he made a few mistakes and had a hard time putting them behind him.

I figured that reference might click.  Not a dead ringer for Christopher Guest, just a similar overall look to Nigel in character.  He did look a bit pale and sickly, so his story seemed credible early on.

Yeah I remember him being harmless for the most part, once the melodrama passed.  Then later he passed the baton to Wackim (Joe?), who took over as the main forum weirdo.

I saw Ron at a show once. He seemed to get along with everyone just fine. But I admit I laughed aloud seeing Wackim referenced in the "Are These People Nuts?" thread.
