They are down to 700 pre-orders already. Good luck. I have about 75 boxes coming in now. Should be fun. Although I did get free shipping on 5 orders of 10 boxes. I also had to pay almost $300 for shipping to get 12 boxes overnighted and another 15 boxes 2nd day air. Although the free shipping and the discount helps with the cost. I can't sit her for 5 days waiting for my boxes while you easterners open all the goods

I just ordered my 2 boxes a bit ago and didn't see the place to enter the promo code. I did put the code (in caps) into a couple of places to see if it would work but it didn't.

I reread this thread but didn't see anyone who said what the text box is called or how it is labeled. Is the field called called "promo code"?

Local tax is 8.625 percent, but Topps' amount seems to work out to 7.4 percent, don't know why.  What's truly horrible is getting charged sales tax on the shipping, too.  It adds up fast!!  Hmm, maybe I should pre-order a few more boxes......

I do appreciate going overboard sometimes ~ ~ ~  ~ ~ ~ and this is cheaper and healthier than a smack habit  ;-)

Who went overboard? Also, the email didn't say ''hello wacky fans'. It said Subject. Are you smoking some of that, 'NOW', illegal wacky tobacky?

How many boxes were allotted for the pre-orders?  At 3:17 AM (EST) I got an email notification from the Toppsonline store mailing list with the link, so the remaining boxes may not last much longer.

Actually it's now over 100. I bought about 275 OLDS boxes and in the end I didn't spend a dime and I think I have a great collection. I have all B&W except for the cow and I also have one B&W from the poster. I sure hope buying them all now hasn't hurt me as it did other collectors with OLDS and not getting anything special with 100 box purchase. I purchased all small lots of 10-15 boxes to hopefully get a random mix. I really don't know if that will happen and I could be totally killed on this series.
If you are a collector that is content with not having everything and sell to feed your passion than my strategy will work.

I figured you plan on selling the bulk. But keep in mind there's going to be a lot more competition this time around. I bought a paltry 20 boxes but I'm not as confident about breaking even this time. Through ebay this series is going to be the cheapest most attainable set since FB2. It's releasing a tidal wave of 5000 new sketch cards to the market. If you have the strength maybe you could set aside about 20% to remain sealed as insurance. Sealed Old School boxes (or OLDS for the tragically hip) will be gold when the series sells out. OLDSGOLD? Goldschool? Never mind.

Loren, I placed my order at 5:56am.   I must have gotten two of the last ones in the pre-order stock.  So bummed that they were sold out when you tried a half hour later.

Actually not surprising if you go back and read through this thread.

Maybe they will be adding more boxes to the pre-sale as Dave suggested might happen.

Loren, I agree.  Seeing how many forum folks here ordered (I read the thread after placing my order), I am not surprised things went quickly.  Remember too there are many folks on Dave's email list.  Any number of folks ordering upwards of 100 to 200 boxes apiece would very easily suck up the supply of pre-order boxes.

The shear fact that there is no limit on a pre-sale is staggering!
Lets get one thing straight here,,,it's no longer about trading cards,it's about sketches and money,i said this last year and this proves it again.
I like the sketches,don't get me wrong but it's really a shame it's come to this

Let's hope Dave comes through with some more boxes for preorder. Unfortunately, since I've got to be at work, I may miss out on those as well. I was going to buy 5, but if I can't get the preorder deal, I'll probably drop that to 3.

Oh well, at least we can (hopefully) still buy some from the main release!

I woke up at 6am and saw the same message, "SOLD OUT". Living on the East Coast, 12am was just too late.  If I truly thought that they would sell out, I would have stayed up.  Does Topps plan to release additional boxes via presale or do we have to wait for the general order via Topps website in December?

Even though I wasn't on the "bounced" e-mail list you posted a few
days back, for some reason I didn't receive the pre-order link that many
of the others did.    

I did try the url link posted on the forum here just now, looks like the pre-sale
is out of stock.  If you add more stock up, can you add me to the list?
