I bet it would have been a link to some random $5 auction he won "at a great price".

Actually we are over 20,000. I don't know why the counter is off. Look at my post here and you will see the post number is 20,122. You can see the post number in your browser url address bar. We also have 260 members. This is probably more like 250 because I have a test user name and there could be others with duplicate accounts. Not bad for the first 9 months.

True, but 1/2 of the 20,000 posts were from Ron.  LOL!

You have to click on the link near the top of the post that looks like

RE: 20,000 post

Then look up at the URL address in your browser and there will be a Message ID number near the end of the address.

For example, this is post # 20,166

Well we passed 20,000 according to the counter on the home page today.  I thought we would hit it soon and sure enough....things usually slow as we hit the holidays.

Do the counters get out of synch when people post and then later delete their post? resulting in fewer remaining readable posts, versus the number of messages that were actually made.
I should probably delete this post and see what happens...

Wow, I could have sworn I heard that statement once before a long, long time ago (about 10 years)... and it was ME who said it! Pinch me, I think I'm dreaming.

...and I still say my 20,000 posts on Delphi were "quality over quantity" vs the eventual winner who had a motherlode of "LOL" posts which shouldn't have counted...

Thanks Martin. I just replied to your post, but got some weird message saying there was another post and please preview, so don't know if the post worked. Anyway, I'm doing fine. Hope all is well with you also.

I'm not sure if it was the "BPA", but I seem to vaguely remember a long time ago there was some type of an (annual?) nomination and maybe a (virtual) "award" for the forum member who "discovered" the most significant previously unknown information about Wacky Packages?

Or maybe that's another false memory in my ever-growing collection.

You are correct about that.  When I got into the hobby there was still a little discussion those awards but at this point they have solved most of the mysteries that needed to be solved!  It would have been fun to be a part of that era but I was a little late to the dance.
