« on: March 20, 2025, 02:21:03 PM »
Has anyone here been watching Greg's videos on Wackys on his forum? I've been watching them from the beginning and I think they're very interesting.

Are these recent or from a while back? Provide a link for convenient reference purposes?

These are recent and on YouTube. They've been eight of opening mail shipments of various Wackys from other people to him and one history of Wacky back variations as of right now. They're also all listed on his web page as well as on YouTube. Greg has a channel for them as well.

Here's the link to them:

What I think he’s doing is a Wacky-style twist on the ‘unboxing’ video concept that’s been trending on YouTube for a while.  One example I remember from a few years back was a series of new reissues of 80s horror films, most of which had been released on DVD one or more times previously, now being reissued in super-duper deluxe packages with additional discs of every extra possible, collector booklets, etc.  With the premium price tag attached to these premium releases, I guess horrorphiles came up with the idea that doing an unwrap on video would help fans look before they leaped.  In many cases so-called deluxe releases only offer a little more than what’s already out there.  Arguably a form of predatory marketing to the completists out there.

The latest Wacky History #1 was great to see. Lots of info coupled with his perspective on it all. I look forward to more of the History Vids. If you enjoy them: Leave him a comment on the Video on Youtube. That helps his channel out.

Are you referring to videos where he pretends to have no idea what is in a package claiming he buys blind and then decides if he got "ripped off" which suggests the seller is a culprit as opposed to declaring he made a bozo purchase in which case it is the buyer(him) who blundered?  Since he has never errored, I guess all the sellers are rip off artists even though he made willing purchases....I think these belong on the comedy channel!
