Does anyone know of any info about Hollywood Zombies? I thought I heard something about it being an offshoot of Wacky Packages and Garbage Pail Kids. How many series were there? Is it worth collecting?
Hollywood Zombies contained only one series that was released in 2007 and was originally unsuccessful for Topps, but I personally think that it's definitely a good set and well worth your time both looking for it and eventually finding it.
It contains three promo cards (with the third one being a different variation of base card #3 (Paris Hellton)), 72 base cards (71 cards and a checklist, with all 72 of them in both regular and Freaky Foil versions), two bonus cards (with both of them being two different variations of base card #45 (Britney Speared)) and 10 Gore-Glow Morbid Mug Shots cards that have a glow in the dark feature on the back of all 10 of them.
It was originally avaiable only in select comic book specialty stores and two home video stores (which were Suncoast Motion Picture Company (now defunct) and fye (still surviving into the present day)).
It was parodied in
ANS6 as Hollywood Nobodies (base sticker #64).
Also, from what I've heard somewhere and IIRC, a comic book that was based on it was planned by IDW Publishing, but it was never published.
Would it have been an ongoing series, a miniseries, or a one-shot? I guess we'll never know.
Finally, two more threads for this series can be found on pgs. 1 and 4 of "Parody Card Discussion (non-Wacky Packages)".
