Spring Philly Show. May 18th/19th.

5 weeks from today, the #80th Philly show will be held once again at the Greater Oaks Expo center in Oaks, PA. Unlike before with the last few shows that took place in Hall E, I believe the show will be held in the B Hall providing a lot more room for easier walikng around and to accomodate more dealers. As I enjoy posting this thread every spring and fall, would like to start getting a head count of who may be able to attend. I plan on attending Day #1 and may stay overnight, but that is to be determined closer to the 1st week of May. Looking forward to anyone making an appearance who hasn't been able to in say 4-5 yrs. Can't wait til the 18th/19th arrive. WACKY ON!!!!!!!!!!!

I saw on Instagram this morning that both Joe Simko and Dave Gross will have exclusive, limited GPK cards.  While not directly of interest to Wacky collectors, they might be good to nab as they might have a decent resale value.

   I did my very best to get another Wacky in there, but it just "wasn't in the cards" (pun intended!) I sent her 5 or 6 variations on the Philly Cheese Steak gags I used previously, and I even did a very detailed spoof of her old Non-Sports Mag, but I couldn't get her to bite on any of them. I eventually designed a GPK gag at her request, but the final ended up moving away from my gag idea completely. Maybe next time?

Joe - you are always thinking ahead - just like the Hustler - its the Jersey Boy in you!!! Great idea - i will be there to get those - Both those guys rule as artists so veery cool for me - and I ONLY Collect Wacky Packs exclusively - and maybe the cross overs too...

However, I take exception to the "80th show" thing. Just 'cause it's been 40 years and it's twice a year doesn't make it the 80th show. During Covid, they cancelled two or three of them at least, if I remember right. I believe someone didn't really count them up...but just being really picky 'cause I'm good at doing that.

Actually Greg was there both Saturday and Sunday, taking the place of Matt who was going to set up but fell ill just before the show.

Lost Wackys 1st Series was officially sanctioned by Topps (along with the 2nd Series), and that's what Greg had: eight sealed virgin sets of its first release with all of the unauthorized (and eventually pulled) variations that were done behind the backs of everyone involved with that series.

If these two series weren't officially sanctioned, then why are they on the Master Spreadsheet? Answer me that, why don't you, you're so smart!

Scary part is your really that naaive to believe the buck stopped with Lost Wackys.  The variations were created by someone who is one of the many who does know greg shit stinks(you are clearly not one of them)....Pathetic proof reading like with his website is why the variations snuck thru.
