What is an acceptable size?
Just put it up and see how big it gets.

I changed the size of mine and also changed it to RGB colors. It's a jpg file. Still seeing an X?  Why would I see the avatar and not others?
I just checked with IE and it looks fine. You must also be bringing some good Karma to the group. Your up to 5!  ^-^

Thanks Brad!  When I tried resizing it with the website you mentioned, the dimensions got smaller, but the file size got bigger, and the server wouldn't accept it.  Thought I was going to have to lose the animation.

It just occurred to me that my avatar, which has not been altered in probably 5 years, looks like he's pasting LTL Wacky graphics on his wall. ;D

Brad, I cannot get my avatar to stick.  It tells me it's too large ... (that's what she said).

Can you help me out?  Thanks.  Avatar address is:

Save it to your computer - right click on the image and say 'save image'. Then you need to upload it into your profile. Let me know if you get stuck.

OK, done but too big. Can you shrink that moe foe down when you get a chance?  Not too small though.  Just enough so you don't have to drag the bar to see the entire image. Thanks Brad.

There should be a $20 service fee for people that can't follow directions  ;)
I found the best to be about 150 in height. I tried 170 and it got all messed up.

The URL to is:

http://online-image-editor.com/

Hit upload
Hit edit -> resize
Select 150 for height.
Click file
Hit save

Make sure it looks good before hitting save or just hit the redo button and try again with a different size setting.

Brad,

Where is the section to upload an avatar?  I have looked in the profile section, but I am missing something.  Maybe I am just tired!
Still looking for Series 17

I'm not sure why but like Ron I'm only seeing an Old School box as Slamjim's avatar.

Dave Gross said he is using an Old School Box as his avatar right now.  He retired, for the moment, the fighting sticks of processed meat.  Maybe he'll return to them someday.

Fred, it does indeed!  Wow, you were ahead of your time there.  Maybe your classic avatar inspired the LTL guys to do Wackys?  ;)

It does take some time to get caught up.  The moment I think I have gone through every post, more unread pop up.  I can see losing lots of hours here.  But, it is a good thing.  It shows people are active, want to participate and want to focus on friendship and fun.
