Irish Test Pack
« on: April 08, 2023, 10:04:32 AM »
It will be interesting to see how much this goes for. Can’t be too many left unopened. On the other hand, most long term collectors that wanted one probably got one in 2004.

In 2004 I asked Greg if I could get one with as few of the black spots as possible. It still has some but better than most….

I admit, I have coveted that one for a while  :-[

Do you know who bumchex is?  I assume it isn't Brad.

I distinctly remember him selling one in the last year. I about fainted because I thought it came with a Kill sticker that he had in one of the images, but alas he stated in the description that it was NOT the case.

Not on the set.  On the wrapper.  Don't know the cause!

I don’t remember; it isn’t showing up on the sold listings on eBay. Maybe I’m delusional but I definitely remember seeing it on there.

Like quas said, not on the cards, but on the wrapper. These were a result of the glue used to adhere the label to the wrapper over time. Similar, I would say, as to what is often/mostly seen on the backs of the cloth stickers.

Remember, sold listings are archived after 90 days.

I gave away one of the cleanest packs I'd ever seen or owned.  Had only a very very tiny dots, but they all had at least some.  Kind of surprised the one on eBay isn't going for more.  These things are nearly impossible now that so many people opened them.

This is one that I never got into as I never really cared for the Irish. Sets I mean. Interesting nonetheless.

No, it was Bumchex. I was curious to see what this would go for. Or, with Mashbox showing, whether it was possible to make an educated guess as to the other card.

Bumchex was the seller.  Who was the winner?

I had to log into eBay to get even this much: t***l. I am just so unaccustomed to thinking of Bumchex as a seller.

Anyhow, I can eliminate myself. It was not I. Maybe we'll find out at a show.

Well, I guess my estimate was spot-on (well, back in 2013 anyway).  When I gave it away, I said it should bring about $1000.  But it was literally one of maybe 3 I ever saw that wasn't filled with those black dots.

I think he meant the original auction. The other one on eBay only sold today. The best offer was $850.

Where do you see that view that shows the actual Best Offer amount that was accepted?  When I look at sold items that accepted an offer this is all I see:
