Many of you are talking about bundles of 5 boxes for $90. Where is that link? On the Topps website I want to buy 10 boxes, but doesn't show any discount.

Thanks for any help.

I'm probably going the 5 pack route as well and glad I see others doing the same thing so there should be enough floating around in the trading forum for everyone to complete a base set.

One would have to purchase way too many packs to even get close to getting a complete coupon set, so I'm finally saying goodbye to them  :'(

No problem, Corndog  :great:

Before I purchase, I wouldn't mind knowing what the odds are of getting a comic as one of the hits.....is it 1:2 or less likely?

I like the comics and would like to get all 5, but if they are extremely rare, then it just isn't worth the effort to purchase additional sets to try to get them since the silver parallels and foils aren't of interest to me.

yeah, it would be great if they gave the odds for the comics, silvers and foils.

my thought is possibly 1:5, but without any print runs or more odds given, there's just no real way to know.

While the Wackys from the series we've seen so far are AWESOME--great job, artists and gag writers!--I'm disappointed that Topps is wasting "hits" with color parallels, which I've never collected.  I do, however, like the coupons, but one would have to buy 50 boxes just for a chance to collect all 50 coupons!  I, too, am worried about Topps' collation on the sets; the packers haven't always done a great job on collating the past few years.  I bought 20 boxes and pray I don't wind up with 20 each of the same 10 base cards!  As for the coupons...well, I'm not handing Topps $900 and still not get all of them, so I've accepted the fact that if I want them, I'll have to consider secondary sources.

I hope my $90 investment gets me one base set, or close to it. If cards are inserted randomly, and not in groups of 10...a lot of us are in trouble!!

The 2023 Wacky Packages All New Series Master Checklist thread shows a lot of spoiler titles for those who might want to look.

I regret looking! And not for the spoilers. Among the fabulous parodies we've seen already, there are some real stinkers in this set. Yikes!!!

Is this based on a real mayo product?  I can’t think of what it could be.  Maybe a regional thing.  In the NY area the top dog is Hellmann’s, with Miracle Whip and a few others a distant second.

I have a friend who loves The Big Lebowski beyond comprehension.  He made me watch it, didn’t do much for me.  Now my friend let his hair grow long, scraggly goatee, etc.  He says it’s his midlife crisis, but I think he’s trying to be The Dude.

Duke's Mayonnaise. Haven't tried it myself but evidently, it's a national brand.

Actually, Neil, it's a product of the South only.

Not too surprisingly, Wackys were also made of two products of the West only; namely, MJB Coffee and Pearson's Nut Goodie.

That's all the ones I know about. As far as I can tell, the vast majority of Wackys (and I mean vast!) are all products from the East.

The only reason we here in the Midwest know about Duke’s Mayonnaise is every year they show the Duke’s Mayo Bowl on tv. I believe they dump gallons of mayo on the winning coach’s head…

I like how Topps manages expectations with "Ships in 25-30 Business Days".  Were they saying that for all the 2020 through 2022 monthly releases?  If so, I missed it.

Yes, I live in Florida, and Duke's is hot on the tail of the big national brands. It is actually preferred by Southerners. When you've drawn over 2,500 roughs, you have to start stretching for products to parody, and I couldn't pass up the chance to squeeze a Big Lebowski gag in!

Actually, only 2021 and 2022 were monthly; 2020 was weekly.

 :-\

so...
to answer the actual question you asked - yes, the prior sets also always had a statement saying "Ships in XX Business Day"
initially they had an incredibly optimistic 3-5 days,
eventually dropping to a still doubtful 7-10 days,
and finally to a more realistic 14-21 days.

Topps just sent a link to something about the "History of Wacky Packages" in the customer info email:

https://ripped.topps.com/topps-wacky-packages-brand-history/?utm_source=Sailthru&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=031623%20Topps.com&utm_term=US%20Marketing%20-%20Recent%20Purchasers%20or%20Email%20Openers

It's very light on info, and completely omits Norm Saunder's and Jay Lynch's contributions.....

Here in PA it sits right next to Hellmann's on the shelves.

I did see Norm's name mentioned, but not Jay's.  I wonder who the audience for this site/page is.

Gotta love the last paragraph:

What am I Chasing in Topps Wacky Packages?
Like Garbage Pail Kids, the chase cards in Wacky Packs are the artist sketch cards, the coupons, and fun parallels.

Does anyone really find the parallels fun?  Maybe the GPK folks who are rainbow collectors.

Duke's has arrived in the North, huh? Never even occurred to me, I must admit. You learn something new every day, I guess.

And speaking of Hellmann's Mayonnaise, I just got a good idea. I know it became a Wacky recently (which series it was escapes me at the moment, however), but has anyone ever thought of making a Wacky out of its other name west of the Rocky Mountains, namely, Best Foods Mayonnaise?

With varieties being slim, I'd give Duke's a spin. Miracle Whip is available and although it has an interesting taste, it isn't mayo. I have a tube of Kewpie but it can be quite overpowering and rightfully so.

Yep, the labels say "Known as Hellman's East of the Rockies" and "Known as Best Foods West of the Rockies" in small print depending on where you buy it.  I remember getting a kick out of it when we moved from Pittsburgh to LA, and then eventually back east as a kid.
