Is Topps really referring to the release of the new Wacky series as “the biggest product announcement in the history of trading cards?” If so, that’s great…I would think at this point that baseball cards outsell our beloved Wackys by a huge margin…

Anybody know the EXACT date in March 1973 that Topps released the 1st Series of stickers?  I'm willing to bet that this new set everyone is looking forward to will be dropped that same date this year... 50 years to the day.

You give Topps way too much credit. No one there would know or care about that date.

I also doubt a meaningful precise date exists.

Maybe its Topp's inverse logic.  I checked my account profile and settings. It appears I am not enabled for newsletters, yet I receive two emails a day from Topps. Under my account, Newsletter Settings, the  checkbox is not checked next to the text "Sign Up to receive our newsletters at the e-mail address associated with your topps.com account. You can unsubscribe at any time. Read our Privacy Policy for more information."   At the bottom of each email I receive, in small print, it notes I am subscribed to this newsletter as ... and shows my email address.

I hope the set is a regular set. I hate it when I have to buy more than one box! Put the extras in a box and be done with it!

I am thinking we will need to purchase multiple sets in order to possibly obtain a complete set. This is based on recent sales. I doubt it will be a one shot deal for a full set.  Topps needs a hook to sell multiple sets.  Looking forward to info today.

Does the 5-box bundle guarantee one base set? There are 50 total parodies, and 10 basic cards per box.

I'm not ready to pull the trigger, considering the unknown here.

When basic base sets hit eBay, they will be priced close to the 5-box bundle price of $90. I can't imagine someone selling a base set for under $50.

But if I buy the 5-box bundle, I want some reassurance I get a basic base set for the $90 price.

I know some of you here with deep pockets are going to buy at least ten 5-box bundles, but I wish there was a little wiggle room for people on a budget like myself.

It probably won't, but you'll be able to trade here!!  I am counting on that for sure!!!  Also picking up some extras for anyone here who needs a set.

I hope you're wrong too.  Hopefully at least one box will have 10 different. 
Although that fact only reduces the odds by about 2.5 of randomly inserted, so:
10 diff                  Random
1:1                      1:2.6 chance of getting 10 different in 1 box
1:31.8                  1:83.1 chance of getting 20 different in 2 boxes
1:28.4K                1:74.4K chance of getting 30 different in 3 boxes
1:4.1 billion          1:10.1 billion chance of getting 40 different in 4 boxes
1:1.1E+20            1:2.9E+20 chance of getting 50 different in 5 boxes

It sounds depressing when you look at that.

Patrick, do you have any "space related" odds for 1:2.9E+20.  Like trying to see the Christmas decorations on my house from the moon with the unaided eye?

I doubt there will be a guarantee of a sketch card, but one can hope!!

People trade whatever is in the set - check out the trading section for threads for the 2020, 2021 and 2022 sets.  With this set, it appears there will be trading of base cards, coupons, foils, silver parallels (dammit, they did stupid color border parallels!!), and comics.

With the recent GPK Valentines set, there were two boxes, with one of them 1:10.
This doesn’t say if the red and blue are equal or not. We’ll see.

The base set should be easy enough, but the coupons are more of a concern.  Wondering how easy it will be to assemble a coupon set.  At least there’s one per box.  Unlikely that just 50 boxes would do it; 100 might.  The question is how many total boxes there are, and hence how many possible coupon sets.
