Happy Holidays from the Cameras!
« on: December 23, 2022, 10:07:37 AM »

In keeping with the spirit of the holidays, I'd like to say THANK YOU to everyone in the Non-Sport hobby for making 2022 so bright.

And in keeping with the holiday spirit, I'd like to return the kindness with a little giveaway. I want to find a good home for my new 2022 Holiday Camera art! Here's all I ask:

Between now and January 1, I encourage forum members to give to their favorite charity. Any charity will do.  As you know, there are a lot of GREAT causes to give to!

Just a few "rules":  I work on the honor system, so I don't need any proof. Just reply to this post and let me know that you donated to a cause (any cause, any amount) and you'll be eligible.  All I really need to know is that you want to be included in the giveaway. For those who've already made a recent donation to a cause, you're eligible, too! Just post your name and you'll be included, too.

To keep things fair, I'll let my daughter Halsey pick the name out of a hat on Jan 2, 2023 (around noon EST). I'll contact that person in a message to get your contact info and mail it promptly.

Thanks again to everyone for making 2022 a little brighter!  May the rest of your holiday season be merry and bright!

Neil & family

UPDATE 1/2/23:
As promised, it's time to pick a name for the 2022 Camera Holiday art! My faithful assistant,  Halsey has just picked a name from the hat...drum roll, please...and the winner is MARC SIMON!

Congrats Simon! I hope this makes your day a little shinier! I'll send you a PM and get your contact info so I can mail your art.

And a HAPPY NEW YEAR to all! Hope it's full of joy, prosperity (and giving)!!!

Neil

Sure, throw my hat in the ring! I've brought several carloads of donations to Goodwill as I prepare to move, and I regularly donate to the Sierra Club and Boy Scouts. Will that do?

Please enter me in the giveaway! We donated some items to the cause, like groceries to our local food bank, boxes of different items to Goodwill, and I parted with some Star Wars toys for the annual Toys For Tots drive.

I moved this year also and donated carloads of items and am still donating into the last week of this year!
White Elephant sale for the Oakland Museum, Out of The Closet, Turnabout Shop among others. I've even donated rolls of pennies as there was a change shortage due to sales taxes now being collected.
Please put me into the drawing!

Not an established charity, or organization, but I donate my free time to assist individuals navigating the process of American citizenship. Mostly providing transportation to/for biometrics, visas, and other immigration-related appointments in Boston and Rhode Island. When needed, I also provide tutoring for citizenship testing and job-placements, rides to medical/legal appointments. The greatest reward, for me, is being invited to attend an individual's citizenship ceremony, and the subsequent life-long friendships that were created during these journeys.

My wife and I, each week in December, go out to dinner and pick out deserving person, couple, or family and buy their meal. It is so rewarding to see their reaction when they find out a 'Secret Santa' just gave them a free meal.

Merry Christmas & Happy New Year!!!!!

Semper Fi,

Douglas

Anyone who can spare any extra funds,  George Webber a great guy and a great sketch card artist has fallen on some medically bad times.  He is in and out of the hospital with having to carry an oxygen tank.  Funds are low for him and he could use any help so he can continue on.  I included a link to all of his sites, most of you have seen his work (the Monsters series).  The link includes a link to the go fund me page (just copy and paste).  Again any help would be great.  Thanks               allmylinks.com/gwebberarts
