This won't be directly on point, but it's still a good story. I was first involved in designing Wackys back in the ANS days, and the retail sets meant kids had access to the stickers, just like back in the old days when we were little miscreants. I can remember spending a weekend at St. Pete Beach in 2014, and after hours in the sun got hungry, so I went to the little beach shack nearby for snacks and drinks. While waiting for my order to come up, I noticed a newspaper dispenser for the local free rag. It had a glass front, and some smart ace had plastered it with stickers. There were 8 of them on there, and they had faded and weathered in the sun, but I could tell that they were Wackys. I'd seen the same kind of thing dozens of times as a kid in the 70s, but then I did a double take and realized 5 of them were my designs! It gave me the most amazing rush to see my ideas on display like that. It is my favorite Wacky moment. We HAVE to find a way to bring retail sets back!
