Horsey?
« on: May 04, 2022, 05:14:00 PM »
What product does OS 16 title Horsey parody? The font looks vaguely familiar. I DID try to look it up on the forum and could not find the answer. I know a couple of titles at the end were not tied to any real  product…..

I thought Decay from 11th was the only verified fake product.  The later series particularly the 16th have several products that are obscure or possibly regional but nonetheless real far as I know.  I recall Fling’Ems and Dr Nest’s toothbrush being speculated about but I think the original products were eventually confirmed.  This is where I miss having access to Rusty’s Lost Wackys website.  He didnt have perfect images for all of them, but I think he nailed the real product names from top to bottom.

Greg’s website says they’re hefty bags, whether sandwich/ziplock type bags or larger trash bags I’m not sure.

The Master Spreadsheet has the answer: it's Hefty Food Bags. I got that off of Rusty's website, lostwackys.com, and there's a photo of it in the 16th Series section.

I get Food bags/Feed bags. Hefty into Horsey seems like a stretch….Especially since they had already done Heavy….Thanks for the info…

There’s an entire thread dedicated to comparing Wackys to their products, if you have any others you are wondering about.

Good memory - Geez I should have remembered that.  That should keep JailOJohn busy for a while...

While we tend to think of closely matching, rhyming titles most of the time, there are quite a few that wandered off that path.  If Baskin Robbins can become Bathless Ribbons, anything is possible...

Someone else started the initial thread, and when it was abandoned for a while I took over and completed all 16 original series comparisons. If I was to start a new thread for the 1985 series to the present, I would title it something like "Wackies compared to real products"

I started the thread. It is titled accordingly because the original purpose of the thread was to criticize the gags and produce alternatives. Sort of like what they're doing with the Wonkys. At some point early on, it transformed from gag criticism to reutterance of known information. Nonetheless, it is a one-stop shop for all of the titles with their original products. It would be helpful if there was a way to filter by series.

I actually meant no anger by my comment, just spewed the wrong words.

No worries...it all worked out in the end! I probably should have started a separate thread for each series 1- 16 to keep it more organized.
