Wow, with that somber music, it was kind of sad to watch this. Not at all the vibrant, crowded shows I remember. And it reminded me of my last time at Wondercon out here where all the vintage comic & card booths were like ghost towns. When Wackys were really huge in the late 90s/early 00s, I remember going to huge card shows where the 60s/70s/80s stuff was on fire with long lines of collectors pawing at stuff... and then there was always a couple old-timers with long beards (or bellies) sitting in a folding chair behind a card-table full of "Horrors of War" cards, or those ones with flags or airplanes, or even cigarette cards... and we'd all think, "oh man, who's going to buy that stuff anymore?". Then at the same time, looking at the flashy "Pokemon" booths, and foils, and gaudy new sets, thinking "crazy kids... they don't appreciate the classy art and gags of Wackys and Uglies and OddRods!" And here we are now, where "Pokemon" is considered 'cool vintage', and the torch has been handed.
