Ho-Hum Wacky Holidays
« on: November 18, 2021, 09:14:04 AM »
With Old School 10 probably not coming until after the first of the year, and perhaps Minis Series 3 not coming until after the first of the year, what are people doing to get through the holidays? I know there will be November and December monthly sets coming, but what else do people buy or look at or do to make sure they have a Wacky Christmas? It would be nice to have something Wacky to open.....

Why is it I hear Napoleon Dynamite's voice when I read your posts? LOL! I agree there have been a lot of crickets here lately. My wallet could definitely use a break, but I still would love to know if someone here within Topps can use their crystal ball and reveal teases to future plans.

1. In 2022, will there still be Wacky Monthlys or something else?
2. Any other upcoming special online sets coming like Mars Attacks, etc.
3. Any news regarding Series 3 of minis. With the lack of preview images or checklists, it's going to be a while me thinks.

I'd like to know at least something about the non-Topps Halloween cards and the non-Topps Christmas Postcards.

I believe I'm seeing a pattern here: every three years. This is my reasoning:

*The Halloween Pack O' Fun sets were 2015 and 2016 (we would've had 2017 if it hadn't been for Topps, blast it all!) and then we had Halloween 2019. If I'm correct, 2022 should be when the next one comes out, since it didn't this year.

*The Christmas Postcards were 2016 and 2019. Again, if I'm correct, 2022 should be when the next one comes out, that is, if nothing happens this year. We'll see.

I think the lack of non-Topps releases is because the artists are busy producing Wackys, holiday themed and otherwise, for Topps.  Since this keeps the artists employed, and producing Wackys, I am all for the current situation.

Oh, I couldn't agree you more, Pat, I'm just guessing at best here.

In fact, even if those two series happen to be over and done with, that'd be good, too! Then I can save my money and concentrate on other things that might still be continuing, like Mark Parisi's varoius Off the Market trading card series, which seem to be still going strong.

I'm hoping we Jews can get a bone thrown to us if there's a holiday set. Would it kill you to add a menorah somewhere?  :]

I'd be happy to do a design, but don't have any currently on hand. Do you have any in mind?

Yes, good point!  Inclusivity in comedy.  ...And a "Festivus" pole would be nice, too.  Or at least someone yelling, "Serenity Now!"
