Does Pix cereal spoof Kix cereal or Trix cereal?

We might be able to tell when the stickers come out and we see the art.  I like a surprise!

I'm old and I had to google that song reference. Pix does have a classic song lyric on there. But different song....

I can never hear "Pix" without remembering 43 years (or so) ago when Channel 11, WPIX, had video game contests where kids called in and had to say "Pix" into the phone to shoot at an object on the tv screen.  The more points you got the better prize you would win.  One kid was frustrated at the lag from his saying PIX to when the shot launched, and yelled "PIX dammit, PIX!!!"

Sorry, completely off-topic  :P

I don't remember PIX dammit, PIX... But I do remember PIX.  I had that game on intelivision that they played.

Kix was also the name of a heavy metal band in the 80's

In the same vein...if I had a band, I would have named it "Smurfberry Crunch"

Wow, I remember that well, now that you mention it.  Otherwise it probably never would have crossed my mind again.  My strongest memory of it was how weird it sounded hearing a kid’s voice over a phone line on TV.  And yes, because of the delay, the contestants would sometimes resort to saying PIX repeatedly, out of frustration in not being able to get the timing right.

We had a version of that in the SF bay area, I think it was 'POW' instead of PIX. Every once in awhile a person would call in who had a deeper voice than the host and he would joke about how old the 'kid' was and yes, heard alot of kids complaining and mumbling that there was a lag time between yelling POW and the game itself. It was usually the really young viewers who had the most hits!

Something on the webpage was bugging me and maybe I was looking at it incorrectly:

On the page for the Halloween (or any month) cards, you are given the quantity and pricing option with the drop down menu saying 1 for $60 and 10 for $480. Underneath that box you have the qty box which only allows a numerical character of 1 or greater. If you click on the option for 10 (in the upper box) you also have 1 in the lower quantity box. The price comes out to $540 as it thinks you want the cheaper deal for ten packs plus an additional pack at full price. How does one correct such an issue?

So your saying you will get 11 packs?  I did that also. I thought topps was doing the ole bait and switch

As has been mentioned here before, if you look carefully, when you select 10, there's a small "+" next to the $480. So, what it's saying is: "if you want 9 more packs (10 total), add $480". That's where the $540 comes from. Everybody got it now? Write it down.  :)

And the Quantity box is to indicate how many ‘single’ sets you want to order, or how many ‘lots of ten’ sets you want to order.

Topps needs to be clearer.

I saw the +. Nevertheless it makes it sound as if you can buy a total of 10 packs at a discounted price of $480 when it reality it is 10/$540?

Hey! Enough about the prices already! Doesn't anyone want to comment on the ART??? What do you all think of the designs? Are they Halloween-ish enough? Any favorites? Any Duds? I'm sure I'm not the only one that would appreciate a little feedback!

How can folks comment on the art or favorite / dud gags when we won't be seeing the majority of these Wackys for another couple of weeks?

I believe most don't hunt all over the 'net for early images but actually wait to receive the cards and look at them once in hand.  You know, old school style...

Viewing a scan online and a card in person are, in my experience, two different things.

Okay, fine. We'll wait 'til November to discuss the Halloween cards. But everyone should have their September sets by now, right? Any comments on the gags? The art? Favorites? It sometimes feels like the cards could be blank, as little as their content is discussed!

Sadly people lost the appreciation of the artwork and gags. I tried to rekindle interest in my "parody compared to real products" thread, but I put that on hold again because of lack of interest. Either that or people in general seem to be busier than they were in the past, employees are worked harder, etc. A lot of the forums I visit used to be bustling with threads that discussed things in depth. But today there is so much coming at us as collectors and fans, that we move on to the new "hot topic" more quickly than before.

Well, at least your sympathy is appreciated! It seems a shame that there isn't more discussion though, because I really think there has been some fantastic work done over the last year and a half. Especially when you consider the frenetic pace at which these new designs have been put out, the quality is really remarkable in its consistency and creativity! Maybe once the well runs dry, collectors will look back with a bit more fondness and realize what they were taking for granted.

Will November's Wacky Packages monthly set include Thanksgiving related Wackys and will December's Wacky Packages monthly set include Christmas related Wackys? They won't hinder when Wacky Packages Old School 10 gets released in between.

The answer is imprecise, because everything depends on the decisions of the legal department. There have been thanksgiving roughs submitted, and tons of Christmas gags turned in, but who knows how many, if any, make it through the gauntlet! The latest word I've heard is that OS 10 is still on track for a mid November release. Everyone keep your fingers crossed!
