Two months in a row now that the Houston sort facility has received my shipment from the Memphis hub and immediately sends it back.
Guess Memphis is being too efficient for FedEx

(Image removed from quote.)

My package has been in Memphis since Friday night.  No change at all since then.  This is a new route - my Wackys have never gone through Memphis before.  The last few months they have been going from Florida to Indianapolis to New York.

This morning, mine showed going through Memphis also and onto Indy. Now on the way here.

Mine went from Memphis directly to Queens; no Indy this time.  Got to Queens a little after midnight.  A few minutes ago it arrived at the local Fedex facility, so these might not be another 7:30pm delivery.  I still don't understand why weekend deliveries don't occur since I sometimes get other Fedex packages on Sundays  :-\

Well, my Wackys arrived.  I tried not panic over the coupon collation, hoping it would even out at the end, but it didn't.  I actually need four of one of the groupings   >(      At least the Wonkys worked out almost right.

The cases are the snap lids like last month.  All of my coupons were in the same groupings as last time, and my playing cards were also in consistent pairs, but one set was missing the playing cards.

I got three sketches (the color is kind of off from my scanner):

I always cross my fingers before opening, but unfortunately for me it didn’t work.
I knew I was totally screwed after opening just my second pack.
Pack 1 had coupons in a pattern 2, 7, 12, 17 and Pack 2 had coupons in a straight run of 17, 18, 19, 20.
Sure enough, my whole lot had a mix of coupons either in a pattern or in straight run.
Unbelievable that Topps can’t do this right.

I noticed the same thing in my shipment.  Left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing.

In addition to the usual coupon card pattern of 5 cards apart, I got one set that was every 4 cards #4,8,12,16 and a straight run #13,14,15,16 ???

OMG, I can't believe all the variations people are getting in the coupons!  I am now grateful that my sets were at least all consistent with the pattern, even if I had lopsided numbers of the 1 and 4 groups...........

This is the first time (I think) where the sets arrived before it was time to order the next month.  I am seriously considering stopping on the coupons.  Must ponder this.  But, first, I need to get back to trade requests!

I got the same patterns with the coupons along with everyone else.  It used to be the "columns" (i.e. 1, 6, 11, and 16)
which I got, but then I also got a few sequences, too.

And the collation for me, of 2-7-12-17 was horrible, just saying...

Has anyone besides me wondered why the playing cards don't have rounded corners?  Topps used rounded corners on Stella Dorko, which I never understood, but here it would have made perfect sense.  I guess it was a cost factor?

For the July set: 1) What chips does Terror Chips spoof? 2) I can guess Little Hair is another book takeoff - Maurice Sendak's Little Bear, perhaps?

Nail clippers work fairly well to trim those corners.   :great:

You are correct, sir! And I must say that Brent Engstrom did a fantastic job of nailing the vibe of the original exactly! Hilarious! I couldn't have hoped for a better rendition! Thanks Brent! - PZ

Since we now know it is, which one is it spoofing - the classic book or the animated TV series?

This ground has probably  been tred before, but is everyone okay with Topps charging $60 for a set of 20 stickers with a few chasers. I remember when a pack was 5cents. I know, I’m old. But that’s $3 per sticker…couldn’t they sell a base set with no extras for $25 or $30? I realize some of you folks buy multiple sets pick out the chasers and re-sell the  base set , which is cool..It IS nice to get a complete set for your $60, but you folks chasing the chasers must be made out of money…

Bubble Junk sounds like Bubble Yum Bubble Gum.

Btw, is Hubba Bubba Bubble Gum still around after all this time?

Lil Spitters is a spoof of Lil Critters, which are children's vitamins, like the Flintstones chewables we had as kids.

Yeah, I think this has been covered.  For recent months, I've just been buying the base set on ebay.  I can't stomach paying $60 and still not having a full set.  I'd almost rather have no playing cards or Wonkys (much as I like both) than having one or two out of a bigger set.  Wish Topps gave us an option.  But at least the ebay route is OK.

Yep, Hubba Bubba is still around, as is Bubblicious and Bubble Yum.  None of them sell remotely the way they used to. Soft chunk bubblegum (the technical term for this style of bubblegum) turned the gum category upside down in the 1970's when Bubble Yum launched the category, but since the 1990s it has seen a drop off in popularity, landing at where we are now.

Between 2012 and 2016 or so, Hubba Bubba did some especially cool releases, featuring Hubba Bubba in soda-inspired flavors.  I showcased four of them here:

http://www.collectingcandy.com/wordpress/?p=16798

They would go on to do Grape Crush and Dr Pepper Cherry flavored Hubba Bubba as well. Hubba Bubba also did a couple seasonal flavors, doing a Halloween Caramal Apple flavor and a Christmastime Hot Cocoa flavor... around 2016-2017 I believe.
