Hi David! Will be great to have you back! How long do you see these weekly series going on for? Could they run into the Old School series this fall?

When I first looked at the gallery on Topps for this week, I thought for sure your entry was Paesan because of the tight rendering and illustration style.

My sense is these sets will keep going for a long time if the sales remain. Why wouldn't they?

I can't stand the candy itself, but I love this parody.

From time to time, David Gross has occasionally alluded to a really "old" old school set that he would like to do someday, hearkening back to some distant, bygone time way before the 70s.  This parody brings to mind as to what such a set might look like.

Looks like it was also done from a bite-size piece, penny candy if you will.  A throwback to Gadzooka from OS1.  And Fleer Dubble Bubble parodies in ANS/OLDS, come to think of it.

Brent did a fantastic Wacky there.
‘Just pretend to like it’ is so appropriate for this candy

My dad loved candy and I fondly remember the Mary Jane candies. I havn't had one in 50 years; but they were good.

My mom likes these too.  I got them for her just last year, but she told me to stop because they're too hard for her now.

Yeah, isn't that fantastic? Definitely one of my top 5 favorites from this series, so far!

Lot's more really great ones to come!

Definitely one of my favorites this week as well. Mainly because of the "old-timey" simple design of the wrapper. I thought at first this was a parody of a box of Mary Jane candies, but it's an individual wrapped chew. This one would easily fit in the vintage series!

My Nana (my mother's mother) loved them, too. She ate them whenever she could (and sometimes we got the individual chews for her as a gift whenever we could) until she couldn't eat them anymore. Ah, the memories...

I never realized that Mary Jane was a NECCO product.  As a kid I listened to a lot of baseball games for the local minor league team in Norfolk, VA, and it seems like there were plenty of Mary Jane commercials.  I always thought it was a local product.  I still remember the jingle: "Mary Jane, Mary Jane, everybody's favorite, Mary Jane."

I think as long as they sell it will continue. Unlike GPK we don't have any retail sets so this is one of our main sources of Wackys for the foreseeable future

Stay tuned on this subject. I'm working on trying to advance this. Maybe on it's own or within Old School.

A WP2 Crumbs just sold for $101.99:

Wow!  Maybe I'm not going to lose my shirt on these after all.  The first half of my Week 4 order will be here today.  The second half hasn't even shipped yet, so it will be about a week until I know what I can sell/trade this time.

There must have been a lot more WP1 Baby Rants produced. A Master Set with the WP1 sold yesterday for $110, Buy It Now. I don't even see Master Sets offered for the subsequent weeks.

This price doesn’t surprise me.
my impression, and from what my own orders had, is we’re seeing half as many WP2 and WP3 as the WP1.
Consistently 1:10 now vs 1:5 in week 1.
I’ll receive my week 4 today. We’ll see if the ratio remains the same.

I received my one week four pack today. I scored a Sun Fright Ludlow Back and a Hounds Coupon Back. No Wonky.  Still elated about last weeks two wonkys.
It will probably take me 12 more weeks to score another Wonky.  Nice to see the binder pages filling up with new cards. Good and Punky and Sun Fright are my favs this week.

At least the puzzle pieces are consistent with Week #3 in still being scrambled (19, 18, 16, 17)   :great:

Got my week 4 pack yesterday, one coupon back (echo duh) and one Wonky.  Maybe Topps decided to give the Wonkys out to the single pack buyers this week to keep us buying.

They threw me a bone with a Wonky on week one. None ever since.

I was thinking of putting up a set of the 4 Wonkys from May to try to recoup some of my losses.  But, I don't want to be considered a pirate.  I think maybe after June I'll stop buying so many.  Hell, I'm looking at a Covid-19 pay cut soon, and $600 a week is a big hit even with my regular salary.

Same for me.  I bought one set and got one Wonky with it.
