Hey Neil!

Any more insider details you can share with us? :)

Aside from the teaser title that Topps sent out today, I think we are going to have to wait.

I’m thinking you’re right about that. Will be interesting to see the format and if there will be extras. I’m kinda hoping it’s just a straight set you buy each week. No sketches. Keeping things simple. The checklist at the end of the month sounds great. Hope it’s somehow 9 pieces and makes the puzzle!

I expect it’ll be very similar to the current weekly GPK sets, which is also the same lineup of five artists doing one card each.
They started with a simple 5x2 set (10 cards) @ $20 for all of April, and now for May they have introduced one parallel card with the set, giving 11 cards at the same $20.

I'm still confused why Wacky Packages can't be like the GPK - available in boxes, packs, blaster boxes, etc. at retail outlets. I'm really excited ANS is back, especially with the artists involved, but 5 titles a week x $15 to $20 each is an expensive way to put set together. Now I'm reading that the bulk ordering thing is gone?

I asked a similar question on a post I made on 3/22/20 called "Possible fate of Wackys in brick-and-mortar stores?" if you - or anyone else - would like to look.

The best thing about this is consistent Wackies. Fingers crossed these sets are well supported by the fans. These artists have gone to bat for us here. We need to show them that we’re not all about the talk. If sets like these are what it takes to re-ignite Topps to green light more sets. I’m all about it. With these upcoming sets, Neil’s Attacky Packages and David’s Old School Sets. I’m a happy guy here.

Agreed, I'm looking forward to consistent Wackys, and I intend to support them.  Not particularly happy with the weekly model though - seems like a lot of materials and energy wasted in processing and shipping.  I'd prefer a once a month complete set.

Agreed, but it does bring back childhood memories of only getting to the store about once a week to buy Wacky Packages.  If you waited a whole month, it seems like a new series was already out.

Me too.  I'm a big fan of uncut sheets.  That's what I typically buy from Kickstarter projects.

It's the only one with snot and gross-out humor (that I know of). The rest from everyone does not have that. But it does fit perfectly into ANS1

I guess with 4 sets of 5 each month...if the cards have puzzle backs that could be 2 different puzzles and 2 checklist cards.

Great to know Topps launches a NEW Wacky Packages Series today.  We needed this during lockdown. Humor and the talent of the Big Five WP Artists will help us stay sane. So great to know we will have something to look forward to each Wednesday.

I noticed the email from Topps this morning (5/6/20) did not mention the new Wacky cards, Perhaps this afternoon.

there is, the same 10% they're doing with the GPKs and others.
Giving $135 for a bundle of 10 sets (vs $150)

I guess what I'm getting at, is there is little to no point in doing a bulk order for the forum, correct? the savings isn't worth the effort...

So does each card have a puzzle back, a coupon back and a Ludlow back? So each card has 3 backs? Are the wonky ones the back of Baby Rant? Is this a bonus card?  Can anyone clarify?

Right. It’s a piddling amount. $1.50 a set. So even after a month (4 sets), the savings is $6, which is maybe $1 over what it would cost for me to resend. Not worth the time or effort.
It may be worthwhile if participants are all buying 2 or more sets a week

My guess ( but need the artists to weigh in)
Wonky is its own card - both front and back are shown.
Coupon and ludlow are alternate backs of the five base cards
So base cards total 15, counting all back variations, and there is one Wonky.

I wish the Wonky Packages entry was an automatic bonus. So you're gambling if you just buy one set. Some weeks you might get the Wonky, some you don't. I need to be firm on my budget and purchase just the one set. They look great and worth the money. The parodies look top notch!!

Thank you! So the Baby Rant is some sort of Bonus card?

I’ll most likely order 3 sets. More than happy to sell the extra 2 sets or trade for the alternate card backs. Let the trading begin.

That’s how I see it.
The Wonkys are a chase set/bonus card, possibly just one title per week?
I expect are all reworking of classic Wacky's.

I do believe I'm extra dense today.........  can't quite figure out what to order to have a chance at one of everything.  Maybe I'll just not worry about the alternate backs.

And, is this print on Demand, or might they sell out before the week is up?
