Original Series Sets Available
« on: August 30, 2010, 02:36:25 PM »
Hey everyone. Anyone looking for an original series set with puzzle set? I have quite a few from series 1-15. I am planning on putting them up for auction but wanted to see if any forum members have any holes to fill.
Most of these sets will fall in the EX+ to NM range. I think I may have a few EX series 1 and 11 sets. Just depending on your budget. I don't want to sell individual cards or puzzle pieces. These would need to be purchased as a set.
If interested let me know what you are looking for and I will do some scanning.
Thanks!

It's pretty nice. Do you want a better scan? Do you want to buy off ebay? I am all for saving on fees.

Did you end up selling that tri-fold set you had?

Yup, gone. I think I have about 20 misc. tri-folds. Anything you are looking for?

I was mainly just curious because you had to drop the price.  I have a full set of them as well.  I could use an upgrade for an Oscar Mayor if you have one EX+ or better though?

I put them up for 10 days because of business travel.

Please send me a PM exactly 5 minutes prior to the close of each auction and provide a link as a quick reference.

(just kidding of course)

Everyone, the auctions end tomorrow. At this point there are fantastic deals to be had for the tougher OS series. Series 1 & 15 are only at $100 right now! There are a lot of watchers so I'm sure there are snipes but this might be a chance to get some of the tougher sets cheap. Off hand I know the series 11 & 13 sets are very nice because I believe I got those sets from John Frick in a trade a couple years ago and he sent me incredible sets.

Damn, I wish I had known you had all those before you listed them on eBay.  I need the following cards:

Maddie Boy
Crust
Grave Train
Minute Lice
Horrid
Dopey Cream
Hostage
Pure Hex

I am putting together a lower grade 1st series set.  Writing on the backs is OK for these cards.  You don't happen to have any of the above cards that fit that bill do you?

Or anyone?

I want your series 1 lot but I don't use snipes, I never use proxy bids and lately I have missed just about every auction I plan to bid that night.  What night does your auction end?  I am addicted to series 1 titles, I probably have around 500.

It ends late Monday afternoon. I'm surprised you don't use snipes. It so easy and then you can just forget about the auction end time. I use them regularly.

What snipe service do you use?  The only one I've heard of is Esnipe, but I believe it involves fees?

I have been using phantom bidder for about 2-3 years now. Never failed me! I think they charge about $.25 per snipe and only charge you if you win the auction. I bought about 50 tokens a year ago and haventvbought any since.

It's been $.99 for 3 days. That has been a bit surprising to me. Auctions generally have a spike when an auction is listed and then again on the last day. No spike here so far.

I don't use snipes because I rarely know what I will pay until spur of the moment and I like to review an auction to assess shill factor.  I know yours won't have a shill factor but alas, I won't know my price until Monday night and assuming I don't get consumed by MNF and forget to bid altogether.

I got burned by not using snipes a few weeks ago as this lot's picture originally showed a bunch of OPC puzzle pieces.  Total steal whoever won this:

I've been burned a few times in the past couple of months, most notably on the rough art for Peepers, which I really wanted.  I should look into snipes....

I use this sniping service now:

It is totally free and so far it has never failed me.

I just joined the one Brad told me about so I'm going to give it a shot!  Now if I could only get the auction notification program working I'd be all set.

Your auction ended during the drive home commute?  No chance I will ever have a chance to snipe those.  I review ebay around 9:00 and later each night.  Sorry dude.  Should have just cut a private deal with me, your take home would have been higher.
