I like the gag. I thought it was pretty cool when I first looked at it. Now that it's blown up she looks like a mummy :D

I thought on a small scale that it was Saran wrap as the whites pop a little more with the highlights.

I based her in general on pictures of Donatella Versace. The woman is unreal.
yikes!!!!

Kreepy Kreme:

The original version. I thought it would work much better as a mysterious creature made of doughnuts rather than a goofy monster who just handles them.

Thanks for posting, Dave.  I agree that the published version is better (particularly because it's a more unique take on it, IMO), though I like the original one as well.  Always fun to see how these evolve.

There will be an OLDS2 promo sticker and flyer coming soon. Lots of new stuff in the series.

Woo Hoo!

Hmmm, this might be a good time to start a new thread...

Awesome work!

I didn't notice the camo nipple (now there's a phrase! ok, I hereby trademark my new rock band: Camo Nipple(tm)) until you posted this -- love seeing these BIG.

I think this one is really awesome.  Love the camoflage nipple...LOL.  TO me, this is one of the many pieces that make this a great series.

I think all sketches from now on should be done in that fluorescent blue with white background. Makes my eyes feel like I've been slicing onions for a while   :'(

Back in the pre-computer days, I used these as non-reproduction pencils that the camera would not detect. I used them for guidelines and positioning. It conjours up those old by-gone days again.

I like Bunyons quite a bit. Never had the real product. I despise onions. I also never had a bunyon so I'm not sure what it really is but I expect that it's pretty nasty.

After "Just For Wolfmen", my second favorite title from ANS 7 is Bunyuns. Well executed gag and painting. CONGRATS!

The real product is suppose to emulate onions, but I don't recall it tasting LIKE ONIONS.

Come on Dave, Onions are our friends- especially grilled on a sirloin or rib-eye steak! ;D

Thanks guys! I hadn't tried them before either until I painted Bunyuns. I bought a bag to use as reference, and they were surprisingly good. I actually craved them for a few days after and I'm tempted to by them whenever I see them now. The same thing happened with Suzy Q's and Dunkin Donuts coffee. I think I've drank it everyday since I painted Bumpkin dimwits. On that note, here's that painting. Concept by the great Neil Camera!

I think you can safely say that Mouse Mix, Spread Bull, Yubang, Crispux and Iris Stings are John Zeleznik so those can be added to the list.

Thank you, kind sir, and I always thought "Great" was reserved for those imperial czars who lopped off the heads of their subjects. What do I know?

I really like the little guy with the cup over his entire head in the original Bumpkin Dimwits sketch -- seems more Wacky! :)

Was that changed because the proportions weren't "realistic"? Just curious how the process works...

Here are some more roughs with the final paintings. Brent Engstrom painted Octivia and Pinkies. Anyone know who painted Mrs. Blabbermouth?

Mrs. Blabbermouth is SO FUNNY! Every time I see it I laugh, and my wife loves it. Very high on my ANS7 list. :)

My first reaction was that instead of a tanning booth, she had accidentally stepped into the disintegrator-integrator from The Fly, unaware of the consequences of bringing that Slim Jim snack pack with her.

I love the blabber mouth art especially when it's blown up like that. I never really noticed her face on the sticker. I may have to finally break down and get some reading glasses instead of holding my cards a foot from my face :]

Reading glasses aren't helping me with Wacky details, but the enlarged images on the computer sure are!

Deathsavers: I originally submitted this for ANS6 but had Death breathing on the guy. It makes more sense and works better if the guy's breath is so strong it even overpowers Death.

The death character is especially nice. I didn't notice it before. Maybe it's the sticker size in relation to the age of my eyeballs.

Aye, the bat and overall art work on Vampire Marshmallows put it high on my list. Really an eye-catcher.

And the gag and expression on Death was spot on imo! My wife even laughed at that one. Much funnier that the breath overcomes Death. :)

It really is amazing when you blow up a piece how much you really notice the detail. When it's a small sketch you miss some of the gag. Well, at least it is to me

I agree w/you on that, I also love that title I cannot really say it's one of my favorites only because there are so many FANTASTIC titles in this series! They (the "Artists") went over the top on this one! (IMO) They hit it out of the park! :great:

I've added Bonus Cards B1, B2, B3 to the ANS7 gallery and plan on adding the backs of the base set and backs of W-O-M sometime this weekend (if I'm home long enough).  Taking the kids to see Paramore today, so it will probably be Sunday.
