Yes dan won it and because I need it for my collection he sent it my way at cost.  I have often done the same for him.  At a Philly show a long time ago,  he and I split a $7,000 Wacky Pack collection in about 15 minutes, ratz cracked, #21 jolly and most other diecuts, 1-16 run etc.   We find it very easy to handle this stuff.

Dan is remarkable, especially when you realize wackys are a minor sideline for him.

Yeah, not sure how he handles it all but he does.  He seems to like to buy all the rare display boxes when they come up and then he relists them on ebay as he has series 1 and 2 boxes and at least one other rare box on ebay.  Good thing because I miss many of these auctions.  I think I am only missing like 1 or 2 boxes.  Is there an updated list somewhere?

Probably not, the vintage hobby and its documentation really isn't a priority for anyone anymore that I know of.

Yes, not to be confused with dar-b, who is a different non-sport seller.

Thanks.  I have just one empty vintage Wacky box, a really nice Series 15 example.

Having one really nice one seems like a good way to go. I can't stand having things in crappy condition, I'd rather have one really nice one than an entire run of beaters.

it's really tough to have a truly beater display box since they're so easy to stuff and wrap and make look very good.   if they're torn and missing pieces of the box I guess that would be called a beater. I think most people are more interested in the item than condition.  To say I have a mint condition Wacky Pack doesnt seem exciting.   For someone to say they have the rare 5 cent wacky ad box but no mention of condition... exciting.

It's one of those things that's just in the eye of the beholder. I still admire someone else's collection of rare items despite condition issues. I just can't own the stuff myself. It upsets me to look at such items, makes me feel like my whole collection is garbage. I actually sold my 1st series box without having a replacement because I just couldn't stand it anymore. And by reasonable standards it was not that bad!

Totally agree, everything we collect is in the eye of the beholder.  I just can't imagine the sight of any vintage series 1 Wacky Packages box making anyone nauseous  >(

Well, I wouldn't call a complete 1st series red ludlow set in lower grade "crap"...but I still would not want to own it.

Matthew continues to be one of my favorite artists. I recently scored this killer Run Tony sketch on eBay. It was only $10!

I noticed all of them are pretty much centered except for the Spray Nit. Is this common for all the Die-Cuts or just for some of them?

I guess the centering of the diecut itself is not a factor for PSA?  I am going to send them a miscut Jolly mean #4.  Think they will be smart enough to catch it?  I bet not....I will have the only and highest graded #4 Jolly Mean!

The rest of the hobby was believing there was a Ratz #4 at one point for the same reason. So they might fall for it. Actually they have pull down menus they pick from so probably wouldn't go through.

A couple of recent purchases where partially correct identification, with a dash of incorrect identification, can benefit a collection! I'm not concerned about the low grade #'s... as these are temporary fillers that help fill some open slots until some better specimens surface. I'm finally closing the gap on this set!

George...are you saying you got these cheaper because they were mislabeled? Seems like it would be the other way around.

No, they were definitely cheap due to the condition. For me, the score was finding two incorrectly labeled 2nd series UK titles that I needed.

This is how I completed my sets, just finding Uks mixed with other common wackys.  I also have a complete set of cut doubles the say way, spotting the copyright difference over the years and just scooping them up.

Same here! (although I'm still working on the 2nd Series... but I'm wicked close!) I still have a cut double that you helped me identify at the Fall Show back in 2007!

Wow I'd forgotten about that 2007 show.  It was interesting that so many cut doubles were in dealer collections in the Philly show of all places, almost as if somebody took a whole collection of them and sold them to various dealers at the show, I did find a few pieces on eBay

Another incorrectly labeled addition to the herd! Most of the info is correct, but to be completely accurate, the header should read "1975 Topps UK Wacky Packs" (The date is based on the copyright on the back of the puzzle cards... anyone know if this was the actual release date for the UK 2nd series?)

This has been one of the best months of Wacky Package collecting that I've had in well over 20 years! At the beginning of March, I only had a couple of the UK 2nd series titles, and a complete puzzle... 30 days later, I am only six stickers away from completing this set!
