Every series has those one or two titles that are always O/C.

Is there a trend where the consistently O/C titles are on the sheet?        This has probably been discussed ad nauseam, but I'm a newbie.

Yes, the majority of them are on the edge of the sheet. There are a few exceptions like the notoriously OC 8-lives, where I believe the image was just placed incorrectly so it's always OC when the sheet is cut properly.

Just checked, Floral is not on the edge, not sure why it's so tough.

or Clammy, where the black outline on the top extends so close to the sticker "above" it (Baby Runt), that for the image to be centered on the sticker, you'll see the bottom of the black outline of Baby Runt. In other words, Clammy is always centered "high" and that's the best you can do with it...unless, of course, you don't mind having some of the Baby Runt outline on your Clammy.

Yes Tom! There will never be a PSA 9 Clammy for this reason, unless one of the graders screws up.

During the holiday last weekend, I was sorting though my collection and found this gem I had forgotten about. A Topps Old School promo from the 2012 Non-Sports Philly show. I don't remember which forum member sent this to me, but thanks again - you know who you are.     Thought I'd post it, in case anyone missed it.

Excellent, I can't see the corners too clearly but I hope it grades well! What are you anticipating/hoping for?

I probably should have scanned it against a darker background. The corners are pretty sharp Dave. I'm hoping for an 8 or 9.

Hope it pans out. That was one of the cards I really lucked out on. And yours has better centering.

It's one of the harder to find O-Pee-Chee's. Hard to tell which series. Especially since the OPC 4th series was in both the red and blue "Fink" wrappers.

It's speculation, but it's thought to be from the 3rd series, since that's one of the series for which unopened packs have never surfaced.

Hey Dave, FYI - Mike Crist had 3 'Red' OPC unopened packs in his possession... Also, there was one opened pack with contents and gum that came with the batch.  If I remember correctly, he purchased a 3rd Series OPC box and the packs came with it... Not sure what ever happened them, but I assume that Eric, Kirk, Ed Glicken, or someone else must have purchased them from him.

Brian, I'm pretty sure those red packs were second series. Kirk had several (charging $600 apiece for them of course). Luckily I picked one up from Greg (when someone liquidated their collection to him) for a more reasonable price.

I'm pretty sure no 3rds have ever surfaced.

Nope, that was a totally different batch, since I had purchased the same from Kirk...  The ones that Mike had were definitely 3rd Series.  I will try to contact him...

I have one very similar, it looks identical except it has Fink - It is the 1973 OPC 4th Series wrapper, which one is yours supposed to be for?

It's definitely an OPC, but it's actual series connection is still a mystery!

I'm not sure if I should be proud, or embarrassed, to post this addition to my collection! LOL! An eBay seller had some low-grade 4th-6th series singles for sale with the 6 puffy magnets off to the side of the picture. I've never owned a set of these non-Topps knock-offs, so I figured "What the heck!"

Those are great! I just scored some trinkets that I don't think have ever been seen.

Never be embarrassed by any Wacky item you have. That's my motto.  LOL

I have a set of those, also. Like Jeff says, the odd stuff helps make this hobby more interesting.

Another off center Clammy...but the other direction.   :P

Pat (Rawgoo) and I recently sent in a joint PSA submission in order to make the 50 card minimum order required for PSA's monthly special. There were some very interesting results. I will let Pat comment on her results when she has her cards back, but the most important thing on my end was that Pat very generously agreed to a trade that allowed me to obtain her Paul Maul...and it is the Paul Maul of my dreams!! Thank you Pat!

Wow, that is in Amazing condition for a series 1 sticker.  Any Idea why it is not a 10?

I don't think there is any real difference between a 9 and a 10 that can be quantified. I believe if you crack and re-sub a 10 you will almost never get that grade a second time. Honestly, as much as I love this Paul Maul, the vertical centering would probably make it an 8 if the PSA graders understood how  to factor the copyright in. For some reason a lot of Paul Mauls are a bit low on the card.

That's interesting.      Maybe a 10 is sometimes the lucky result of catching a grader in a particularly good mood that day.

Do we know if a grade is assigned by a single person?

They claim each card is reviewed by three graders, but I have a hard time believing that. I've found that if I send in say 20 really nice cards that are of 9-ish quality they will sometimes give 10s to a few of the nicest ones. Whereas if those cards were submitted individually, I think a 10 would be less likely.
