Nope, I'd never forget about these! But, the last time I looked in this particular box was when you, me, John Mann & Zenergizer had a North East Wacky Gathering at Andy's (Ditch Master's) house! (over a decade ago?)

Just about exactly 12 years ago!

Correct! Here's the odd bit of info ~ The Blue OPC box had OPC 4th Series cards with red wrappers and the purple OPC box had OPC 4th Series cards with blue wrappers (typical OPC logic!)

We gotta dig up some 1st and 3rd series OPC packs. They must be hiding somewhere up there in the Great White North!

While these are not new to my collection, I recently "re-discovered" them as I was looking for another item!

Wow!  That's something to see.

Although I find 10-20% of new GPK’s interesting and entertaining, I buy two or three packs each series, to check them out.

Tonight I got a couple packs at Target (I took my son to get Magic and Pokémon cards) and these titles I found funny. The first and last ones made me think a bit, to get the gag.

My "key" Wackys.  The top row speaks for itself. The 1st series are all white backs and the Spit and Spill has the Spic and Span logo on top. The bottom row are all Black Ludlow backs!  I'm think of sending these off to PSA soon...

Nice. I'd recommend avoiding screw down holders, which are very bad for cards over time.

Cool. You are aware that the Dopey Whip is borderless, yes?

Yes, I actually just noticed that the Dopey Whip is borderless. Oh well.

Also, why are screw downs bad for cards over time? They are basically the same material as penny sleeves, top loaders and card saver type holders....

If there is a recessed well and the card fits inside it, it may be OK. The concern is the card being under pressure. This can alter its surface area and thickness. It can also damage the card's surface.

You might want to reconsider.  Quite a few of those cards will come back with an off center qualifier.

wow. very nice! that one is perpetually cut a little oddly

even the proof I have looks odd, as it's centered vertically for the missing copyright, making it look 'low' on the card

Regular (non-glossy) tan back sticker stock never looks that white. Not sure what the proof is printed on....

I've never opened it, but like you suspect, I don't think it's sticker stock

Sweet score!  That probably wasn't cheap!

So far one of the few original series "mag 7" titles that hasn't been reprinted yet.  I suppose that mystique will go away if Chrome has another series?

Already graded. I got it from the same guy as the Wormy Packages 9, they were submitted by him. I know him from the CU forum. I don't know where he finds this stuff.

Perhaps it is because I am late to the game but I couldn't find a topic (on the first page) coinciding with sketches from the past release or two. Today I received my OS 5 boxes after waiting it out for a few and these are now in the collection:

Picked this up at a very reasonable price. I think prices for PSA graded wackys have definitely softened of late....

VERY NICE Brian!!!

Sharp stuff there. Looking at these, I need to start up on my 16th again. Money has been an issue, so at $100 plus for a 9 make these just out of my reach for now. I'm trying to have a 9+ set. I have 1  (10) so far.

How close are you? I know you have been working on this set for a while.

Thanks for the peak.

Jim

Thanks Jim. I currently have everything from the 16th graded 7 or higher except for the puzzle. I have the puzzle , I personally don't have a desire to get it graded. Of the 30 stickers 4 have qualifiers - 3 ST and 1 OC - that I will look to upgrade over time.

I agree 100% Dave. I sent in my first 15 from the 16th Series and was like "a kid in a candy store" when they came back. Nine 9's, five 8's, and one 7. All of them I had picked up over the years on e-Bay or at the Allentown show. It's also kind of an affirmation that I still have a fairly discerning eye.

The toughest 16th in PSA 9 by far is Floral. I lucked out that the one in my raw set was well-centered and got a 9. There are only two (with one 10). I'm still only at about 50-60% though, around half my set didn't cut it on centering.

That's typical. Every series has those one or two titles that are always O/C.
