It just seems odd when the copyright on the sticker says 1976.
Giving "The Hobby" the finger since 1999!

Picked up a couple of jumbo packs of GPK BNS3 at TRU last week to check out a sampling of the current series. I believe the title on the upper left is a spoof on a famous work of art, but not sure what or by who.

It's a parody of an drawing by French illustrator Émile Bayard who created the illustrations for Victor Hugo's book, Les Miserables.  It was used as the key image for the recent Les Miserable musical.

For some reason, that puzzle has always been the Chuck Jones, where as the others are Quimbys.

I believe he is referencing the old TOM AND JERRY cartoons. Some produced by Fred Quimby and later ones, I believe, by Chuck Jones (who also did many Looney Tunes cartoons, THE GRINCH THAT STOLE CHRISTMAS, etc) .  When you watch enough of the T&J cartoons, you can pick up on the different look and humor of the Quimby vs. Jones cartoons. I remember as a kid liking both... just different styles.

Why respond to a responce if your moving on? I felt like being cryptic. Its just what i see when i see it. Those that know, know. Those that dont that are inquisitive will look it up. The rest just look at you.

You're right and I owe and apology to Scot. It was a bad attempt at humor.

Just received an original 2nd series box, the last one lacking in my collection. The corollary is that I simply wanted one of each color of the original series boxes. I spent the $100 I was going to spend on ANS 11, so I guess I've crossed over to the other side!

Funny, was just telling someone the other day about how they used to be 5 cents a pack back in the day. Cool score.

One last ride with ANS 11 today at Target. Opened twelve packs which contained 2 of those coloring cards, five silvers and two golds. Something is telling me to go back tomorrow and buy up the last few packs.

I picked up a color key proof set for Dukin' Donuts of ANS6 for less than two Rodeo Cheeseburgers at Burger King. I almost feel bad.

Picked up a really nice Plastered Tan Back PSA 8...looks like it could have been a 9! It's not chrome, though.

I'll admit that does have a certain oafish charm, much like the Cheapios with half the sheet code showing.

Paul,
I'm curious if these whiter stickers are still browning over time, just much more slowly than the rest. I would think they're all subject to the same chemical reactions since they're all made of the same materials.

I think the key issues are what the sticker is made out of and the environmental conditions. Not all tan backs are exactly the same. There are glossies, and a couple of different qualities of stock amongst the non-glossies.

For a given type of sticker, long term storage in hot/humid conditions will accelerate the deterioration.

But yes, give it a thousand years and they will likely all be toned, much like all newsprint will eventually yellow.

Nope, I'd never forget about these! But, the last time I looked in this particular box was when you, me, John Mann & Zenergizer had a North East Wacky Gathering at Andy's (Ditch Master's) house! (over a decade ago?)

Correct! Here's the odd bit of info ~ The Blue OPC box had OPC 4th Series cards with red wrappers and the purple OPC box had OPC 4th Series cards with blue wrappers (typical OPC logic!)
