I just received a 60 pack box of 1991 Wackys today for my display box collection. Is anyone familiar with the rarity of the 60 pack box relative to the 48 pack box? I only saw 1 really beat up 60 pack box on ebay, and all the rest are 48 pack boxes. I just found out about them recently on Greg's site while looking through the display box checklist.

This is actually a summary of the past 3 weeks rather than one. I suspect we all have want lists for our various collections we maintain. Mine seems to dwindle by one or two items each few months since, in most cases, my wants are down to a few obscure or hard to find items. Just got lucky in the past few weeks and pulled that last item or two I need to complete several sets. Funny how you can go months or even years and not find some items, then all at once, several fall your way.  Most are not Wacky Packages related but other parody type items.

I still pick up Crakola WACKY PACKAGES patch variations when I run across them... just picked up two in the past few weeks to bring the total to 9....

I collect a lot of various parody items. Like Fleer, Zeeb's company has put out a handfull of different bubble gum related spoof series. Some of these are well intentioned, but never executed as well as Wacky Packages. One of the harder series to find items from is their BHS VIDEO GUM. These are boxes with movie spoofs. Inside the box is a plastic container shaped like a VHS tape. In the container is a big chunk of rectangular gum. I only know of the 7 titles shown below. I picked up five of these in the last 2 weeks....

Also in the last picture are several misc. items.  I am down to 3 or 4 hard to find KOOKY PATCHES. I did snag one that I have been searching to find for over 20 years.

I completed two Topps test sets in the past few weeks as well. The SPIDER-GUY title is from an unreleased set called KRAZY LITTLE KOMICS. Its getting increasingly difficult to find these so I was glad to put this one to bed.

Also obtained the last card in another Topps unreleased set called CRAZY TV spoofing television shows. There are a bunch of back and border variations for this test set. I just completed one set with each title and my set is a mixture of the different variations.

My keeper collection seems to be pretty void of 1980's OPC stuff so I snagged these reissue packs and the 1985 set to go with some late 1980s singles.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/290750886652?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649

http://www.ebay.com/itm/110916934424?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649

Is there just no demand for this stuff hence I got both lots so cheaply or are the listings just poor so nobody knew these were OPC?

Also snagged this as I see this guy has been listing it over and over again and lowered the price.  Why would a UK series 1 set be in such low demand at this price?

Adds up to $100 US, I couldn't care less if it was $99 shipping and $1 for the item.

That's a good deal for sure.  There are probably a lot of people like me who don't have time to look into items closely, and may miss the fact that they are UK if it's not listed in the title.  They look like they are in nice shape too.

It would irk you to know how little effort I put in and yet find these items on ebay.  I whiz through the scans of ebay auctions and my mind seems to know immediately when a lot is worthy of a look, ie a lot of wonderbread cards seems to have the same titles, a lot of UK stickers and so on...if you asked me to list the titles I can't but show me a pic...and I know....same thing with zipping through binders at shows....I can't explain it.

And you have this sense just by seeing the little preview pics before you click into the auction?  Your right, that does irk me!

Not technically a "in my collection" post here, but along those lines...

My wife and I finally got around to renovating our basement over the past few months and making it look like a place inhabited by homo sapiens. It gave me a chance to reorganize and redisplay some of my collections. Without further fanfare, here is one wall (I Love IKEA!!):

And, here is my "workstation area". The Wackys on the wall is a 1973 mail-away poster, Hostage version:

Lastly, here on another wall down there, is the original rough art to ANS1 Anvil, the only original art I own:

Just wanted to share...

Thanks. Actually, no, there are no empty compartments. Some of them have a door on them to hide what's in them and others (like lower left or far right under the Wacky boxes) have two drawers for storage.

Great pics, thanks for sharing!  I couldn't quite make out what's on the top of the left book case.  Can you tell me what's there?  Looks like some cool stuff.

I'm assuming you clicked on the pics to enlarge them.

On the top of the cubes, from the left, is: the Wacky truck (with an ANS9 box in front of it), next is a sealed 1974 Hipton Wacky plack leaning against a plexiglass box with a vintage Hawaiian Punks drinking glass in it (the glass is hard to see; need to display it a different way). Then a Jaymar puzzle box with another ANS9 box in front of it, followed by a framed/mounted set of 1974 Wacky patches and on the far right is a Remote Control '64 Impala SS in the big box with yet another ANS9 display box leaning on it. The only other thing here of any great note is, directly under the truck, my 1967 die-cut display box, Campy version, sitting on top of my Wacky erasers.

Thanks for the explanation.  Very cool and well laid out.  I definitely find I enjoy my stuff so much more if I can display it and show it off.  As I continue to accumulate so much stuff, I find it loses some of its appeal as I have simply run out of space to put it all.  I'm pleased I have enough space to display the highlights, but I wish I had even more to really show all my Wacky stuff.  If only I didn't also collect so many other things, then I'd really be able to have a Wacky museum.

Thanks! I can relate. There's quite a portion of my "things" that are not on display due to space restrictions. Ya just can't show it all at once. The cool part is, if you get tired of seeing something, you've got something else you can dig out and swap with it. Helps keep things interesting.

Here's my latest haul. Some Old School art and a truck. Notice that the Wacky images on the trucks on the card are not the original art. They were all redone. I like their Gadzooka boy better than the real one!

Just saw this post for the first time.  I never noticed that the artwork was different on the Wacky Trucks... and it looks like the kid is blowing a bubble with his EYE!  Gross!  (Sorry Dave... I mean, disgusting!)

I'd say maybe once per year, I actually add something to my vintage wackys collection(ie sans all the new stuff).

I thought demand for these rare shirts was higher than this but I guess not.  Funny thing is that I thought about selling off my shirts as I am financing a home improvement project.  I guess I will be keeping shirts if they are fetching so little these days.

I used to have both versions in my box collection (long since disbanded), but I don't recall the rarity.  Seems like they weren't impossible, though.  There was a dealer who used to sell a ton of the unopened 80s & 90s stuff at a local card show on weekends & I remember him having both.

This is the latest addition to my quest for all PSA graded 16th stickers. The (ST) qualifier is for a minor gum stain outline on the back. Barely noticeable. Plus, I'm happy with it and that's what counts.   :great:
