I meant to bid on this one but totally spaced it off:

http://cgi.ebay.com/56-original-1970s-Wacky-Pack-trading-cards-checklists-/220668674978?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item3360e0c3a2

There is at least one Cloth checklist card in this lot and I suspect that all three of those first series checklists are Cloth checklists.

Anybody here on the forum win this one?

ya that was good score..i never even saw it in my searches ..??

The checklists look like crap with writing on them and bent corners. Why would you want this lot?

I was only interested in it because of the Cloth checklists.  They actually don't look like they're in too bad of shape and I figured three cloth checklists were easily worth $4.

Thanks, Dave. Hey, any die box is, IMO, a phenomenal thing to have. Not like there's tons of 'em lyin' around...

I don't follow display box prices at all but isn't that pretty cheap for that box?

Holy Christ you were lucky. I keep tabs on every box auction and somehow that one alluded me. I need that one and definitely would have bid more for it. Congrats!

I was watching that one, but didn't bid thinking it would go for hundreds more. Looks like a great price!

Thanks, Mark! Yeah, I wasn't sure my snipe was going to cover it, but it was all I was willing to spend...and it was enough! I really figured it'd go higher, myself...

Thanks, Patrick! I still am a bit surprised it's mine, but honestly, even knowing its rarity, it's still a lot of dough for a piece of cardboard, LOL.

I was only going to go $300, but then I realized I had little chance at that level. Anyone who went over $500 would have beat me on it....

I couldn’t help but pull the trigger on Killing Croc! The shades of green are beautiful. It just hypnotically called out to me and said…

…give me a home.

I’ll post a picture of the art next to the postcard in a few weeks.

Nice score, I considered bidding on it, then forgot about it.  My forgetting to bid on things is saving me a lot of money, that is for sure.

I have a hunch I may be bidding on the Kiss Kat art and it might go quite high. That is my fear. It is one of my all time ANS titles.

I can't wait to get this original painting matted and framed!

I never noticed that either. Will have to see if they ever corrected it with the regular set.

Cool. I like that they'll still make the kind of errors they made in the old days. I also like that name better. The croc could've been riding a motorcycle and the name would have been closer to the real product.

That's cool!  I emailed that guy and let him know the "only did 19 sketches" wasn't accurate, and he emailed back that he misunderstood what he read on the blog and would change it.

I recently won this item:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=110591465459&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT

I've seen a few of these on ebay over the years but don't know the history. Does anyone know what the story is behind this postcard? I looked up the book in question on Amazon and it's a softcover with no mention of the postcard.

I don't know. I just won it yesterday & paid this morning. I haven't received it yet & there's no scan of the back in the auction.

Bill, this is the write-up on that card that I did for my collection............

"In 1996 authors Michael Gitter and Sylvie Anapol released a book titled “Do You Remember?”, which featured a bunch of items and memories from the 1970’s.  As part of their promotion they had a postcard company called M@X RACKS print and distribute the Wacky Packages title Ajerx.  The front of the card has the Ajerx art with a fake die-cut line, and the back has a typical postcard format with a little information about the book.  The card measures 4.25” x 6”.  This was the only Wacky title they produced."

You got a very good deal on it.  I don't see them surface very often.  Don't expect great quality though.  The image is pretty blurry.  They definitely didn't use hi-res art for the printing.

Thanks Rob. So it seems the promo didn't come with the book. Do you know how it was distributed? Also, do you know what it has sold for in the past & how often it appears? I only recall seeing 1 or 2 in the past several years.
